View Full Version : I have posted a question like this before... But please, I need more than one imput..
I am 15. I live in North Carolina. I have a 185 average and my high game is a 256. My high series so far is a 655. I am a pretty consistant bowler and I have continued to improve. My question is... is The Real Deal the kind of ball I need? I throw a ball that hooks in the backend. Is The Real Deal the kind of ball for that? I really would like more than one person to put their imput in here please. Thank you for your time.

I am going to be purchasing the real deal in about a week or so and was wondering about it also. I have a sling blade right now drilled to roll early and i was wondering if A Real Deal drilled long will complement my sling blade or should i drill it up to roll a little sooner? Im thinking of drilling it long and if i dont like it i can tweak it with a balance hole. Any suggestions will be great.

It all depends on what lane conditions you usually bowl on. What ball are you using now? Whatever you're using, you should be able to get a similar reaction with one of the Hammer balls. Just make sure you go to a pro shop who knows something about weights and pin / mass bias placements.
Good Luck
Thank you. Actully right now, I am using a Big Blue Pearl. Will that react the same as The Real Deal? Or will The Real Deal have more pin action, or what?

Your question needs more info. What ball do you roll now? The Real Deal is an excellent ball for heavy oil, can be polished to change reaction. The saw Blade might be the way to go. You need to compare RG's, RG differental's, cover stock, and mass bias. If your Pro Shop can't answer this , you need to find a Pro Shop that will spend the time to explain these differences. There is more to picking the right ball than watching someone else roll the ball. The best way to find out, if you could attend a Hammer Challenge at a bowling center. Hammer Head Pro Shop is another way to fine out. If you can't find one, ask the expert.

There is a large difference between the BB pearl and the Real Deal. The Real Deal is much stronger ball, especially in the front part of the lane. I have one and I suggest you put a little polish on the Real Deal if you want them to react similar. If you try it out of box, it will be completely opposite.
Mine works well with polish and little scuff. Easier to push through the front with increase potential of recovery on the backend.

If your looking for a ball that you know is going to come back you found the right ball! Good luck controlling it. It hits really, really hard! No wonder they call it The Real Deal! Find some oil and have some fun. It is the best ball I have ever purchaced!

Hi Kurt. My name is Drew. I'm 14. I have 4 300's and 2 800's on the JBT(junior bowlers tour). The best ball for a strong back end reaction would be "the deal". I got one 4 months ago and I love it. They discontinued them last month, so good luck getting one. My advice, go to your driller and ask him to look around for one for you.

The Big Deal is definately worth a look. Mine is polished, with Ebonite Particle Polished. Clean through the front, hits the break point, turns hard and explosive towards the pocket. Thought the Real Deal was awesome, not does not even compare. If you liked the orignal Vicious, you will probably "LOVE", this ball. Ultimate Skid and Flip.
The coverstock is a modified Cut Throat. Basically this is the low load particle version.
Let me know if you any question.
