I took my Hammer 3-D to 1000 grit. All night im getting a good backend reaction but its just comming in a bit early. If I try and put a bit more speed on it i begin to lose accuracy and I lose a bit of my angle entry, im already playing right between the 1-2 arrow.

Would leaving the ball at 1000 but putting a polish on it give me that little bit of legenth im looking for?

Either, add light polish, or move your mark down lane.

I bowled some practice games today, tossed Brooklyn all day. Tried moving my mark out didnt seem to help. Only thing I could do was loft it out or put more speed but then I lost accuracy. I though about removing my lift grips and putting in oval ones possibly.

Keep the grips and bring it to 2000 or put some polish on it at 1000.

Can you play out to the 1st arrow? There's usually some oil out there that never gets used thats good for some length. I'd take the ball back up to 2000 and keep the grips like they are.

I will try taking it out to the 1st arrow and see if can keep it out of the ditch. Also I will take it to 2000 and see how well she pushes. I believe OOB this ball was 2000 sanded anyways.

After some testing I ended up taking it to 4000. Once I got over the fear of tossing it in the ditch and let myself get it outside to the 2-5 board it carried nicely.Ended up with a 175 game with good pocket shots.

Also remember guys, there are other surface adjustments other than abralon. There is 1200, 1500 sandpaper too ! if kept wet, it works great. Auto parts stores carry it. In my opinion everyone should have a large assortment of regular automotive grade wet sandpaper. I always have 220,320,400,600,800,1200, and 1500 all for various reasons and applications.

Very cool that you got it to the outside like that,Chevy. I love that line to try and "go around" an oil pattern thats not too long and when the backends will handle the hook. It's a great shot to know that you can throw if you have to. Outstanding work,Dude.
