ek,
try increasing your axis rotation. By increasing your axis rotation you are essentially putting more revolutions on the ball.
Increasing and decreasing revolutions is easy . To increase revolutions, you just change the starting position of the middle finger and keep the finish release position the same. For right-handed bowlers, as your middle finger changes position, from 5 to 6 to 7, you will increase the amount of revolutions on your ball. You need to follow-through with the same finish release position. a 45 degree release is where your fingers are in the 4 (middle) and 5 (ring) o’clock position. I refer to this as the 1 o’clock release. If the thumb exits the ball and is extended fully, it will point to 1 o’clock. Imagine looking at a clock about 5 feet in front of you with your shoulder directly in front of 12. One o’clock would be located up and to your right. Now as you are releasing the ball imagine your thumb going to 1 o’clock.
always begin with your hand in the 6 o’clock position. Your hand will be directly under the ball. To increase revolutions, start with your middle finger in the 7 o’clock position. Lefties, you would start in the 5 o’clock position. So, you will turn your hand and wrist so the ball is more on the outside. This position will set you up to achieve more rotation of the hand to the point of release. this position will increase the amount of revolutions. But, be sure to put your other hand under your wrist to support the weight. To decrease revolutions, start with your middle finger in the 5 o’clock position. For left-handed bowlers, you should start with the middle finger in the 7 o’clock position. Ideally, you won’t rotate your hand and wrist at all. But, like two gears, the actions of your follow-through will cause revolutions. But, it will be less than the other two starting positions.
Remember as your rev rate increases, you will also increase both skid and backend reaction. As you decrease your revs, you will decrease skid as well as backend reaction. Try and experiment with using speed changes with each of these positions .

question... why do you want to increase your revs? everysingle person who asks me... how do i increase my revs etc.....
i mainly get the reason... because i just wanna make a ball look cool
being able to hook a ball tons isnt all that great... i know i have a high rev rate... but sometimes i wish i didnt...
i dont know why you are wanting to get more revs... but i just mainly say... just adjust more to your shot..

Well for me, my revs are so low, that i cant play patterns the best-scoring way because i can't play that far in or that far out, its just real hard for me on the sport shots. On the 36 footer i couldn't play outside of 10.

im looking to increase my knowledge on different forms and what-not. I know what your thinking, you think i'm a bowling noob who looks to out hook the lanes. I get revs, not many, but enough to keep myself left enough. I just want to get more tilt and be able to make my ball speed a little faster.

Well I dont if this is just for me but the harder I throw the ball the more revs I put on it. It just comes natural if I have my normal release and throw the ball faster I get more revs.

Yea me too but it doesn't really hook more. And that doesn't fly on the sport shots, u just over shoot the breakpoint

Hey Pain,I thought we already had this discussion. Are you still having trouble with that delivery of yours? You keep asking how to get more revs, but what have you done(as far as using the tips I've seen you get on here) in practice that has worked or not worked, for you? Something has to have put some extra revs on that ball of yours by now.

Well the one thing i can do to put more revs on it, everybody screams at me because its not very ordinary looking and it sort of goes against wuts the normal. I start with my hand in the right position, then when i drop it, i turn it over, then at the last second before i release it, i turn it back over, then back to a regular release, this quick wrist action gives me more power on it with the speed with it.

Pain if there's one thing I think you would have figured out by now,it's that there is no such thing as "normal". Dude,do what works for you. If that's what it takes for you to put some revs on the ball AND MAKE THE SHOT,go for it. Sounds to me like it's working,is it? How good are you doing with it?

Well when i did bowl with it, i bowled pretty decent. I was able to control it too. I am going to bowl like that at league and for the rest of the time. I might be practicing this weekend because i dont have sport shot this weekend.

Pain, let me put it this way, just work on a freeswing for now, it'll come together in due time. It takes a while, I had extremely low revs and a forced swing, I fixed it and my revs are insanely higher than they used to be. Start from the freeswing and then work into the release...I learned my technique from Ron Clifton's site

Well dang it all,Pain. If it's working don't listen to those other guys and roll with it. As you practice more with it you'll get more comfortable and you'll get even more revs from it. Go practice and have some fun!
