I've included a pic of my Hawg with a standard layout and my Black Widow with a skid/flip layout,,,,you can see the difference in pin placement and distance from CG

the skid/flip layout works by placing the pin at a longer distance from your PAP 5.5inches for example, it puts the core of the ball in a more stable position for rotation, basically it makes the ball flare less. This means the ball doesn't release so much energy getting down the lane (skid) so the ball has more energy left at the breakpoint, the mass bias or CG will hav an effect here so anywhere between 45-75 degrees will make the ball move quickly at the dry.
hope this helps a bit?

Jed: that's a long pin and cannot see the hole on val.
Plus it looks like like more of 75 degrees than 45 degrees.
Just my 2 - Thanks
