Stand 3 feet back from foul line in normal stance or address position. Initiate armswing movement. As ball passes the thigh heading into the back swing, slide forward with slide foot, release, and follow through. MAINTAIN BALANCE (HOLD FINISHING POSITION) IN FINISHING POSITION UNTIL AFTER THE BALL CROSSES THE PIN DECK. (Note: Use this for 10-15 minutes at the beginning of every practice, and it really helps improve the players).

good drill for EVERY bowler.

Both times I have been shown this drill, it was explain different.

-Walk to foul line turn around, now take one long step and half step away from the foul line.

-Set yourself up in a strong bowling stance.

-Start your normal swing, once the ball is at the peak of the backswing, start your forward slide and release the ball at your ankle.

***The goal of this drill is to help you perfect your timing. ***

Here is Tony Reyes doing this, he is the best I have seen do it. It is at around 1:45 on the video.
