Lately I have been struggling in my league play. I was wondering if any of you do this as well? The thing is when I practice I can put up some pretty good numbers for me. But when I get to league nite I start to have trouble and can't make the same numbers as in practice.

If you don't have this can you maybe give me some tips to help on how to keep the momentum for league nite. Thanks. :)

If you bowl well in practice, probably you are just too nervous in the league.
Make sure your relax and keep the position that you use in practice game:)
Good Luck

Just dont bowl for score in practice, just take out the ball, and throw for specific pins or marks, and work on things you do on the approach and with your release. The things you do in practice will then in turn reflect on your league, you'll be able to put it all together.

One thing I figured out works well (I shoot practice twice a week at least) is to play a few normal games, throwing for score, and afterwards, start aiming to correct things you know you did wrong, or things someone else observed were wrong, and working on spares as well. Last week I worked on shooting up the 1, got it only twice, still working on it, I'm going to use it for extremely dry lanes when I hit them (surprisingly I havent yet), also it teaches you that you have VERY little margin of error either way, you pull the ball it will go worse than brooklyn, if you push it, the ball goes in the gutter.

the one is an awesome arrow to play for dry lanes i find it easier than trying to play across the lane when things dry out but like u said u need to finese it down there like walter ray does sometimes and make sure u to push it out.

I have the same probelm Tink.I shoot average or above scores in practice but when league starts i really get down on myself when i start to struggle.I know i can do better but i dont feel like im in a groove on the lanes.I'm in the third slot on my team because i'm consistent, and i dont want to let the team down in a close match.I know i have to remind myself to just let everything flow just like in practice and notice if im making a bad shot compared to a good one,and not be afraid to make adjustments on the lanes.

Every one has problems now and then in their game . The more we try ourselves to figure out what we are doing wrong( even the slightest little thing) we just can't seem to correct it. The thing in this case is have the pro shop guy or gal watch you and I bet he/she will pick it up right away.

this is/was happening to me too.
Lately I am asking them to use the same oil pattern as on league nights.

it helps to have a mentor during the game.
The guy that brought me into the league is observing me, I am in his team, and telling me that sometimes I just "cramp up" , the whole motion becomes jittered.
and it happens suddenly, between shots.
I am doing my own routine too, inhaling/exhaling just before the shot. It takes more time then then the ones of the others, but I become more relaxed.

I am also taking notes and scores of the games of the league, so I can use them for when I practice.

Make sure you are doing the same things during the league as during the practice (ball positioning, foot position, angle, relaxed, don't try to impress) and you will do fine.

Hey tink its the same with me, but wut i figured out is that during practice, im having fun and joking around with my friend i usually go with. During league i usually don't. I don't have fun like i do in practice.

This happened to me in my first league in the summer, but now in my fall league I bowl alot better since I started blocking everything out.

I find when I practice that the lanes have not been oiled as well as they might be for League. Doubt it's nerves if you are consistant on how you are throwing your ball, because once I became comfortable with my release... It depended on how worn down the lanes were. Keep it up... you will get your MOJO back and when you do... WATCH OUT!!!

Watch how that ball rolls and where the oil is....
