View Full Version : Lake Mead/Hoover Dam & My Hammers

Sin City Hammer

I bribed a small group of divers with a comp'ed weekend for them all at the Santa Fe casino if they can find my Hammer bag and whatever else is around it that is bowling equipment. Because they are familiar with diving through out the lake, and the hoover dam area in general.

After I explained what the ex-g/f did and everything (after they got done laughing) they said that they would do it, and will call me once they find any of my Hammer equipment. So I gave them a list of what I had, and told them to call me once they find anything.

Now comes the waiting part.

Will you still be able to use the balls when you get em back from the lack (If they are sealed in the bag?)

I have to admire you Sin City. If there is a true die hard HammerHead it's you. I don't think that any one us here would do what you are doing to get your Hammers back. I give you all the credit in the world.

Hammer should give him a break and send him some news bowling balls for his devotion to the brand.

Thanks BubbaRay, that means alot.

Some of my best games ever has been with my Hammer balls, and I wouldn't even think about going or using another company although the skull ball isn't a Hammer, I got it because I couldn't find the Tuff when I got the BW.

The main things that stick out to me about Hammer, is that there isn't many of us HammerHeads in the leagues I've been in (summer league I was the only one, winter league there's 4 of us) and I'm typically surrounded by storm fruit booty smelling people.

I love the fact that when any of my Hammers hits the pins, you know your using a Hammer because your louder than anyone else next to you. And they know it as well, and I make it a point to tell them "That nothing hits like a Hammer".

Then of course there's the ever busy answering emails all the time in a prompt order, The Man Brian Graham. When it takes months at times to get a reply from the storm/track/and b people, you can rest easy knowing your getting a reply from Hammer within 3-4 days. All the others combined can't even say that much less hold a Hammer jock for that matter when it comes to getting a reply as you are eager to go buy a ball.

Between the Hammer balls and equipment in general, the customer service you get that other bowling companies don't even give you and the HammerHeads on the site itself, it's really tough not to be loyal to the Hammer name. Hell, I might try a friends ball for a few frames because he wants to try to convert me, it just ain't gonna happen.

When I picture all my Hammer stuff on a lake bottom, not only do I see over $1,400 in Hammer equipment, I see some of my best games and worse game while getting use to the BW and trying to find the mark where it would kick ass for me. I see my dream since it was back when WRW Jr. and Norm Duke threw Hammer back in the 80's and wanting to get one then but not able to afford it.

Most importantly, I see a future 200 game that I've never been able to get and a higher average because of Hammer.

Because of all that, your damn right I'm loyal die hard HammerHead.

SinCity, Very well said and you are 100% correct in everything you stated about Hammer and Mr. Graham. I myself owe alot to Mr. Graham and Hammer brand . I hope the search you have going gets atleast some of those Hammers back just for the memories they hold. You are one hell of a Gentleman Sin.

If you get some back and they arent usable, try not to use the NMB to beat down your ex, we dont need a Hammerhead in jail.

Good luck, seriously.

Edit: Your nickname should be Balls out Crazy, you're doing this for your good ole Hammer, non froo froo bawls back.

HeHeHe, I got someone that is a female about the size of a sumo wrestler who is going to take care of the "No Mercy Beat'N" of the ex-g/f for me, and it's only costing me a box of twinkies from her to do so. So I won't be going to jail anytime soon.

It took me a long time to just find the right area of the lane to where the BW can hit the pocket consistantly, and I figure there's alot of high scoring games in it for me.

Speaking of Hammers, how is that BWS I sent you working out?

Speaking of Hammers, how is that BWS I sent you working out?

I had 3 practice games with it before league started and spent that time finding my mark with it so I can consistantly hit the pocket, started at the 5 board and moved left as the games went on, when I hit the 12 board in the 6rd frame of the 3rd game, I found it.

Started with a strike, and had a 9/ 9/ (first was a 7 pin, other was the 10 pin) had a 4 bagger for the 9th and 10th frames to end my practice.

The 10 minute practice starts for the league and my team isn't there, so not knowing if I'm bowling or not, I don't use the practice time and at the end of it, they put me on a different team.

First game was a 156 throwing at the 12 board, and had 4 strikes during the game, but missed some 10 pin spares by inches and started giving my new black widow grip sacks a death grip.

Second game was a 175 where I was able to string 5 strikes in a row and make those 7 and 10 single pin spares.

Third game was a 157 that had 4 strikes during it, and sometimes made mistakes by turning my wrist at the second during my delivery.

We took 3/4 points, had the best series of this league and most fun I had the entire league as well, because there was no drama from the ex-team, and the two other people on this team with me are really nice people and next week we will have a full team.

Oh, all this with the BW the same condition that you sent it to me, because my pro shop was swamped friday when it came in.

Sin I admire your determination and loyalty. Rowdy I admire your generosity.

It's a good day to be a hammerhead!

And Bubba I agree 100% Brian Graham really helps make this brand what it is today.

Conspiracy?

Not me, the ex-g/f is too stupid to figure anything out, and add a person who has her own motives to woop the ex's ass, and it can't be said that I had anything to do with it. And I can say the twinkies was just a reward since the cops keep taking all the crispy creme's that are chocolate.

You can't forget Tinkerbell.

My mom calls it stubborness, in that I just can't let it go when it comes to my Hammers, and told her your damn straight.

Sin - You've just incriminated yourself. Don't be so quick to think that sumo girl won't tell the cops you put her up to it if she did kick you're ex's ass. Be the better person and don't have sumo girl kick her ass. Plus girls fighting is just trashy.

There's just one thing though, because all the jails are full here in Sin City, and the lack of seriousness of it, there aren't even doing anything, much less coming down to actually investigate anything. A sad but true thing.

Now once I find out about my Hammers being found, then maybe I'll give her the twinkies anyway and let the ex off the hook, but I haven't heard anything from the divers yet though it's suppose to be today to let me know how it's going.

I got a call from one of the diver's a bit ago, they found my Hammer 3-ball bag, and inside it was a BW BWP and my skull ball, the shoes was all messed up from water and some green slimey crap all over it. They was found at the deepest part of lake mead over near the hoover dam area, over where they restock the lake with baby bass every so often.

As for my 2nd BW BWP the Anger NM Beat'n Toxic, they are still MIA for now, but the diver's will continue to look for them after thanksgiving.

So I'll take them in tomorrow to get looked at by the proshop, and see if a resurfacing is needed for them.

So good news for me so far, and before thanksgiving.

Sin, I am so glad they found some of your gear! I am keeping my fingers crossed that your Hammers will roll once again. I always thought that I could be a cruel b!t$#, but your ex takes the cake!

I also have to agree with you about the Hammer brand. I started with Hammer bowling 90-100s. Now I am up to 150, 160, 170 games...I will NEVER use another brand...

BTW...how lucky are you to know divers who know the Lake so well!!!

Good luck!

if they are still rolling well, this is a hell of a story to tel to your grandkiddos one day when they're all rolling Hammers too, you can tell em how you went through all of this for your Hammers cuz they still roll better than anything out there.

TY, these was divers who was suggested by the owners of the bait shop that is constantly diving, so I took a chance in hopes of getting part of my Hammers back.

I threw them in the house since I have wooden floors to see how they rolled after I dried them off and cleaned them a bit, and seem to roll just fine. So I'm happy, but will bring them in tomorrow for a look over and see if anything has to been done for them, maybe new grips.

Cool, those divers are cool in my book to help find some of Vegas's finest bowling balls. Hope the balls are still okay to roll, maybe the lake was warm and the yhave all been given a bath. :D

It would be nice to get the NM Beat'N back since it is my go to ball when the BW and BWP aren't hitting for me, but all is good if I don't get the others since I can rebuy them again after the new year.

Main thing is that I have what I considered the core of my Hammer arsenal to rebuild around, and it does beat having to restart all over again and look at investing another $1400.00 to get everything that I had.

I did go out and get another Black Widow pet, it wouldn't be the same without having one since I did look at it as a good luck charm.
