There has been a lot of talk about this new technique lately that Mo is teaching at his seminars. Found this on another forum and thought folks might be interested.

It seams to me that its trying to make the pin height in relation to the grip center more of an exact science. Balls have been layed out this way for years. Just the exact angle of pin to val has not been payed to much attention to. Its been more of a distance, than angle

Instead of saying you want the pin just below my fingers. you now say I want the pin 55deg from my val.

whats the advantage of doing this to a bowling ball?

We have been doing this for a long time. What it does is makes it easy for us to postion pin and mb without erasing 20 lines on a ball. Its easy to do when you get used to it. You just go in and tell your driller you want a 130 ball or a 90. Skid flip or roll early ! Its just a new way of doing the same ole thing in my opinion

doesnt it make it a bit more exact though? Now people dont neccessarily have to know their PAP (they should though) but this would require it, for the VAL location, right?

yes, thats what I meant in my first post. But you still need to know the PAP. The second angle is the Pin to VAL or pin height in relation to the grip center. That to me just determines how smooth the ball is off the spot.
