I use the H5 heel (the blue one), but it was feeling like it wasn't as slick as it used to be and causing me to stick. So I tried to wipe all the gunk off, which didn't work very well, so I used an alcohol swab to get everything off. Problem is that now it might as well be the H1 (red) heel it's so sticky. Any ideas on how I can get it back to being slick? Or what you use to keep heels clean. I can keep my soles clean with a wire brush, but not sure about how to maintain the heels.

I think steel wool will work on the heels, try it, people used to use it in place of a wire brush, but it makes whatever it is used on very very slick depending on the amount of elbow grease you put into it.

When you used the alcohol on it you dried up all the plastisizers in the rubber. You need to (this will sound funny) put just a small bit of vegatable oil on your finger and rub it on the heel. Wait about 2 mins and wipe it back off. The first time you slide it may be a bit sticky but it will get back to normal. After the oil, put just a bit of powder on it and that will help speed up the process

Thanks Stampy, I will give it a try. I knew I messed it up after using the alcohol pad, but it was too late. :) Live and learn I guess.

I have a bad knee on slide foot and am always for a tad more slide. I don't care for the shoe covers SO woould the steel wool trick work to sliken up the red Dexter heal? Any other thoughts?

I use soap and water to clean my slide soles and red heel.

By the way I thought the Red H1 Heel was the slickest.

The Red heel pad is the slickest on Dexters SST 5,6,7. It is used for maximum slide.
