I throw 15 lbs and made that switch last season due to control problems and wrist fatigue (which probably was related). Unless you throw extremely hard 15 would be the way to go. With that said 16 with out has been known not to deflect enough with todays high preformance coverstacks and leave back row pins. There is absolutely nothing worse than blowing up the rack and seeing an 8 or 9 pin left.

I'm 51, 6'7", 235 lbs and I have been rolling 15's for about 10 years.
Just an observation from a few years with 15s after changing from 16s... You may be like me and find you have more control and a better balanced shot with a 15. They still have the hitting power and will carry through the pins nicely if you hit your spot... but all that said it won't matter too much what weight you use as long as you have a consistant shot, release and of course.... a HAMMER!! Of course this is only an opinion... all the best which ever way you go!!

although most ppl think 15lbs are the best, for many ppl they are not, for some 15lb hit to hard and leave solid 4,8,9, it is easier to control a 14lb ball, and change speeds if necessary. because they are lighter they will hook alittle more, and you will put more revs on it w/o changing your release.
i still think that 15lbs is better for almost everyone, but just some info i thought i would share

16lbs for the win. I'm only 21 and I'm 5'10" and weigh 205lbs, and have recently got back into bowling about 5 months ago from an 11 year lay off. I've always felt 16lbs was the way to go for more impact and pin reaction. Just tonight after the lanes started drying up, my Hawg Zilla was either barely hitting the pocket or just missin the pocket, but still the pin reaction was great and I kept striking.

I've been throwing 16lbs for as long as I've been bowling. I'm almost 40 years old 6'0" 200+ lbs I wouldn't think of throwing anything less. It's all a matter of preference! ;)

I always used a 16 but per recommendation of my proshop, i switched to a 15 when i bought my PAIN.. i instantly saw a diff. For the better at least for me.. I seem to have better control of it. I'm 6ft, 225 so weight was not a problem but i can get better spin on it and control and less wrist fatigue after 3 games, so IMHO, 15 was better for me. But as many say, personal preference sometimes prevails..

I'm in my early 30's 6'6", 215lbs. and have been throwing 16's for the last 15+ years. I also throw the ball around 18 to 19mph on average. I won't think of throwing anyother weight either. It just depends on the person and their stamina! Basically throw the weight you feel comfortable and are the most consistent with:)

I tried to throw a 15 LB ball just recently and it didn't feel right, it felt like I just was throwing to hard, I know it's hard to imagine that 1 LB could make that much of a difference but it really does. I usually throw around 14.5 - 15 MPH with much success, 194 AVG but if I have to I can get it up to 17MPH so therefore I prefer 16LB.
