my bowling partner and i have stumbled across a sort of hidden gold mine of vintage hammers. our very dear and local thirft stores seem to have a ton of interesting old balls. at the sight of a old hammer, we just HAD to pick it up. it has a balck matte finish, which i assume will react of the lanes, but other than the finish, im clueless. its a 16lber , with the letters "fab" just behind the thumbhole. any ideas as to what the ball reacts like, or any other info would h elp. thanks

If possible, can you post a photo of the ball? It would help finding out exactly which ball you have.

sounds like the old black hammer. if it is the pure hammer will be the same except for 10% resin added for high gloss.

Yes, you have the original black hammer. I have one that I still use today for spares. The ball was a gift about 18yrs ago, wow. :eek:
