I throw just 16lb stuff. Somebody wants to trade me a ball that is 15 pounds and 8 ounces. Would anybody know if there is much of a difference? My Beat'n is 15lbs 14 ounces I believe, and there isn't much of a difference at all.

There shouldnt be much of a difference if any. I throw 1 16lb and the rest 15, the only difference is I throw the 16 a little slower. You will probably just throw the 15 a little bit faster.

Just dont put a weight hole in the ball. You don't want to get and lighter. IMO.

Crusher, you won't even notice the difference. You won't even notice a change in hitting power .

Ok. Maybe I will make the trade then. Besides, I have a feeling I may end up going back to 15lbs eventually because when I went to bowl yesterday, my arm and hand was bothering me a little.

After coming back to bowling after approximately a 3 year layoff I bowled the winter and summer leagues with my old 16 lbs equipment.
Starting the fall league I switched to a 15 lb No Mercy Beat'n and just picked up a 15 lb Black Widow.
I think the switch to the lighter balls was an excellent decision. The reaction and hitting power is still excellent and I am definitely feeling less wear and tear on my arm and shoulder. Plus, it seems easier for me to control ball speed now, if necessary, by slightly raising or lowering the ball in my stance.
