Last night was the first night of the new bowling season for me. It's great to be back in action! Anyway... I couldn't help but notice that there were only two guys throwing Hammers - me and (as it happens) the guy I was matched up against. There were more Columbias, Storms, and Brunswicks than you could count, and little or nothing from any other manufacturer. So I'm curious; is this a local phenomenon or more widespread? What do you see where you bowl?
And by the way... We did Hammer proud while the rest struggled.

well I can tell you that on my first night of bowling there were 2 hammes between 10 bowlers and both of them were mine. Now that you mentioned it I really don't notice too many hammers at the lanes period. Not that it matters to me, just gimme a rock and will find a shot.....................

Where I was in VA it was all about the Storms and the Columbia's. I had a bunch of people wanting to buy the Doom Raw Hammer when I bolwed a 787 in a tournament and then a 300 the following weekend in another.

it's mainly brunnies in the military, OLD brunnies, but since randy and robert came out, for some reason the pro shop's been selling a lot of storm...hmmm...lol but mainly it's a mixture, i do believe from what i've seen, i'm the only one throwing hammer, but i am "coaching" this guy, and he's going to get a vibe. i should so be a salesman...haha

where im at Modesto, Ca. most people are either columbia, or ebonite, legends, everyone thats has been bowling for 5+yrs has an eraser, very few of anything else, me and some guy from out of city were the only 2 throwing Hammer, since they saw me throw the Black Widow our proshop has sold over 50 widows in less then a month, and then a few hawgs
It seems that alot of people have underestimated the power of the HAMMERS!! More fool them!! I have only recently bought a secondhand Big Blue (only 20 games) and a Saw Blade (under 40 games) to go with my High Rev and have improved my average from 160ish to 192!!! So now some people at my centre are looking at me and my Hammers as serious threat, they are even talking about maybe getting hold of one themselves!!

My first night of the winter league started tonight and I only seen 1 other person using a Hammer, it was an older lady with the Road Hawg. Me and her was the only 2 I seen out of about 20 bowlers I paid attention too. There are 88 bowlers in the winter league so I'm sure others are using a Hammer, I just havent found out who yet.

the league i bowl in, you see lots of storm, quite a few ebonite (mostly the one or the big one, some brunswick, some hammers, 1 with dynothane....basically i see everything lol the one thing tho that i do notice is that the top bowlers mostly use hammers (which includes me of course) top5 averages were mostly hammers

Last night on my league I saw a couple of burgandy Hammers, a blue ureathene Hammer(not mine), a blade, My big blue pearl, a high rev and a couple of old black hammers. I think the majority fo the balls in the house are Brunswick Zone. Storm and Ebonite run close next.

Interesting results.
I've been talking up Hammer to anyone who will listen, and, I'll be bowling up Hammer all season. Maybe we'll get different results if this question is asked again in a few months or at the end of the season. I'm thinking I'll be seeing a few Black Widows on the racks by the end of the season.
I really like the results I get with this gear. I figure the more people who buy Hammers, the more successful Hammer will become, which will allow them to produce more of these great balls for me. ;) lol
I bowl in a house with a pro shop that carries predominantly Hammer and Ebonite balls, with a small showing of Storm, Brunswick, and Columbia. No Track, Lane 1, or anything else. Therefore, and since he's the best driller in town, I see quite a few new Hammers and Ebonites. In my summer league, nearly everyone threw a Hammer or Ebonite. Said he's drilled over 200 Dooms this year, and already over 100 Infinite Ones. So, I think it's where you go. I think overall there may be more popular brands if you take a sample across the country, but I think Hammer/Ebonite has its fair share at the moment. And to be honest, Hammer and Ebonite's new ball lines for the fall are much more impressive to me than the other companies'.

I just went last night and I saw quite a few Hammer bags, but the main brand was Brunswick, lots of infernos. I saw a few old hammers, but I was the only BW thrower there. Everyone was interested in my odd ball selection, since they never saw a BW and an Eye-Ball Viz-a-ball before. :D
