Hawg Zilla is great

First night of leagues tonight and first 3 game set with the Hawg Zilla, I shot a decent 186 and 215, but the first game was a sad 158. Out of 3 games and 36 total frames, I had 24 strikes, which for a first night out with the Zilla is pretty good in my book. The 158 was very sad, I had I believe it was 6 strikes in that game and 1 spare, rest were opens. The 2 balls I was using for spares just seem to hook to much, especially when going for the 10 pin, they go right at it and then at the last second they hook. Whats the best Hammer ball for straight shot spares, with the occassional hook? I was thinking the "Hammer Tuff" might do the job.

Hammer TUFF is what I have used with good success, would highly recommend. I had 3 splits in one of my games last night and rolled in the 150s so you aren't alone. Switched balls and rolled 6 strikes in a row the next game then limped in for a 222. That is part of the fun of bowling, you never know for sure what is next 6 in a row, 8, 10 or maybe 12 to start a game?

First night of league last night, used the Saw Blade & Road Hawg. Started slow but steadly improved:

189 - 224 - 228 - 236 = 877 -- 219 avg.

Put the BW back in the bag - it was not working on the spotted shot last night.
