I have found a really good layout for a bowler looking to play outside. And depending on what ball you use it also works good playing the track area. This layout does not over react as much. You must know your PAP.

You need a ball with a pin at least 2 inches. 3 to 4 is better. Place the pin 6 5/8 from PAP. You can go from 6 to 6 3/4 but I have found the more hand you have the closer to 6 3/4 you should be but do not go over 6 3/4. The pin needs to be over the fingers not under. The CG should be in center of grip or close to it. The MB at 45.

If you use this layout with a Symmetric ball it will flare little to none(0-1"). With a Asymmetric ball you will get a little bit of flare (1"-2") but not to bad. For a right handier- If you lay the ball out right it should look like a Label Leverage for a left handier(pin at 11 o’clock). I found that if you put the pin below the fingers with a Asymmetric ball, the ball tends to flare backwards (flare over the thumb). I don’t really know why it does that but it did. There was no affect with the carry.

Since I started to use this layout, houses where I was playing 3rd or 4th arrow I can now play 1st and 2nd arrows. If you are a old timer or someone just looking for a ball reaction like you had in the 80's give this layout a try. Also this layout has allowed me, for the most part to carry only 3 ball instead of 6+ balls. All my balls have this layout now, the cover stocks are the only difference.
