Wow. You'd have had that 700 for sure if you'd used a Hammer.
Seriously though - Nice shootin!

not at all. i bought several hammers at the end of the last league season (around may of this year) when i decided to go to a fingertip grip, and after practicing with them for a couple months i decided i didn't like the way they worked for my style. so i dumped them all on ebay and got myself the brunswick balls.
averaged about 185 between 2 leagues last season (with my conventional grip rotogrip balls), threw a 690 series the first week of league this season with my brunswicks (in addition to routinely throwing in the 200-225 range when i go out to practice 3x a week). wasn't getting anywhere near these kind of scores with the hammer balls even after practicing with them 3x or 4x a week for the better part of almost 3 months (may/june/july).
so to answer your question, no i don't "feel dumb", and at the end of the league season when i'm looking at an improvement of 20+ pins or more on my average over last season i'll feel even less "dumb".
peace out.

again, you must be lost. You should feel dumb posting scores other than hammer on a hammer forum, I for one, am embarrassed for you. You are the only person I have ever heard that has improved going from Hammer to Brunswicks. Good luck finding the brunswick forum.

i improved not because i use any specific company's balls, but because i PRACTICE. using hammer balls is not going to suddenly turn a 130 bowler into a 200 bowler.
that having been said, there are occasions when you might end up using a ball that does not fit your style of bowling. this is what happened to me with my hammer balls. that is why i got rid of them. they did not fit my style. even my least aggressive hammer ball was too aggressive for my game. my new brunswick ball allows me to play MY game the way i feel comfortable playing it.
peace out.

Congratulations on finding your game! I don’t care what you use; whenever someone can find his or her groove it’s good for bowling.
even my least aggressive hammer ball was too aggressive for my game.
Plus I take that as a complement to hammer.

-That is kind of like me! My first week of the Fall season I bowled my high 678 (HawgWild) and my average is 226. Let us see if we (HawgWild and I) can matain it. And it doesn't matter about how high it is because anyone with a 180 average or higher has no handicap so it is a good thing I guess. Plus I have High Game, High Series, and High Average the first week! Hammer has set the bar VERY high for my youth league and it's going to be tough to be it! I love Hammer
-One more thing about the aggressive thing: Everyone in my league threw their ball and it was over-reacting. Balls like The One, Mean Machince, Gargoyle, Big Time, Fire Up, the Infernos, and alot of older balls too. The only ball not over-reacting was........(want to guess?).......My Hawg Wild!!! It is amazing how it doesn't over-react or under-react. It just saves its' burst of energy for the pocket!
