I started back bowling after 10 years and my old equipment no longer performs. 10 Years ago I was bowling with an AMF Angle 16 lbs with finger tip grips. It was no longer hooking so I bought a Brunswick Zone Pro. It hooked hard. I was throwing across the lane and it would always come back. Then I quit bowling. Now I have started back. With the new lanes, this ball no longer hooks. I throw at 17.5mph with a medium spin. This ball moves about 10 boards at most. It is not consistent. I have had it resurfaced, but no improvements were noticed. It is dead. It does not carry the 10 pin. Last week I threw 6-- 9 pin frames in a row.
So I am looking at buying a Hammer Anger. I bowl in medium to heavy oil 40' on length. I throw at 17.5 mph. I am dropping down to a 14 lb ball due to knee injuries. What are the opinions of this ball?

You have chosen great ball for med - heavy oil condition. This ball cuts through through the oil like you have never seen. You could drill this ball for length and backend or a nice even ac, I would suggest the length with backend drill. If the lanes get alittle dry you could move deeper inside with the ball and the ball will set up just nice in the pocket without over reacting. I love mine and if you notice all the members here that have one seem to love theirs. You can't go wrong with this ball for med-heavy patterns.

This ball is a fantastic ball on medium to heavy conditions, this ball just sets up so early and just slams the pocket.

The 10 pin is left standing only by entry angle or speed being incorrect.

Only bad entry angle will leave a 10 pin. Speed is irrelavant. Little kids get strikes at 5 mph. Speed does however affect entry angle.

Also, this is taken from richie at Lane 1, all 10 pins are created by a little deflection.

Go to bowl.com and look at the strike study. What kind of deflection is he talking about??? Proper pin action kills the 10 everytime.

Well flat tens are caused by deflection and angle. Ringing tens are just a bit of deflection, this is from him though. In my vid when i leave a ringing ten my ball deflected.
