Well I finally had a chance to video tape my release, I noticed a few things that are bugging me now. My slide is inconsistant, Sometimes I will do well, others I tend to angle my left foot (slide foot) sideways to the right which throws me off balance and hinders my timing.
The other problem I have noticed is that I do not have a clean follow through, It could be that it was just a bad day when I video taped it but im not 100% sure. From the tape it looks like I was just ripping up on the ball and my elbow was bent completely after delivery (if that makes sense). Almost like I release the ball then answer a phone. Is your arm suppose to stay straight through your follow through?
Any tips or suggestions on fixing these problems?

The sliding problem could be your shoes, its hard to tell. The follow through can be argued all day. Whats the position of your hand at the point of release. If your elbow is "chicken winging" then your probably comming around it.
It would be nice if you could post the video so we could see what you see.

The sliding problem can be a side effect of many things, often time if your shoes get too cold the material on the bottom of sliding shoes absorbs as much moisture as it can.
Or, it could be from your shoes being above room temp. if it is warm then oil from your ball can leak through layers of ball bags trying to exit the bag, then be absorbed by the HIGHLY absorbent material of the shoe. This happened to me on my Pepsi tournament :( it sucks.

how much your shoe slides often time varies the direction of your foot at release.

An angled foot isn't really the problem...well maybe it is if your not square to your target.
The first thing that you need to make sure of is your line to your target. Your feet will take you where your eyes are looking and if they don't you body will try to go there anyway. So for starters, walk the line.
As for your amr swing/follow through HH2 has a point, that can be argued all day long. As for me, it sounds like a case of "winging" it. In my opinion, for what it's worth your arm should never be bent. The whole key to great position is good posture and a "FREE ARM SWING"! I had a coach who explained it like this...your arm works as a pendalum in time. The ball should come up in the back swing no higher than it starts in the push away. And the push AWAY is just that away, not up or down just away. Keep that arm start and let the laws of gravity do the work. That will help you keep loose and in balance.
I have problem with my window, the point in the bottom of the swing in which your fingers exit the ball. I am a bulky person and if I try to throw the ball too hard my body can't keep up with all the motion. Shoulders and hips open and I am too slow to get things closed back up. I find myself falling off to the right. Ideally you want to release the ball as close to your ankle as possible my widow is probably 18-22 inches in at worse.
The best help that I can give is wallk where your looking, keep a free arm swing, and small window. Also, POSTING really help me too. It makes me focus on balance. GOOD LUCK...

I dont think im "winging it" My elbow isnt pointed out to the side or any thing like that, its straight, I just noticed I bent my elbow after release. I'm fairly consistant on my line just the occasional angled foot slide that screws me up.
Ill try and figure out how to put the video on the computer, its an older DVC video camera just not sure if it can put video on the computer.
I slide fine, just sometimes I will angle my foot to the right or almost directly sideways (very uncomfortable when that happens) and its like a sudden stop when the slide foot turns sideways. Maybe taking a step or 2 back from my start point? Maybe I am thinking im to close to the foul line and I naturally try to just stop?

It may all just be your timing. If you are too late with the release you will be up in the stance pulling the ball and on your heels. If you are early, you will be bent over and falling over. In either case you won't have much leverage on the ball and you can feel that. Maybe try to adjust your timing.
