Leagues

now that most of the new league have started up, i was wondering how everyone has started out. so far in my JR. Gold Trios
first week, 181-245-200-246-872, had a couple 7-9, missed a 6 and a 10(im a lefty), bowled good made mistakes in the end avg so far 218

2nd week
238-259-237-254-988, missed only my 2nd 7 pin in about 3-4 months, missed another 6 pin, and a pocket 7-10 kept me from the 1000. avg. 232.5

So far I've bowled 2 weeks in the winter league and have 196.5 avg, which its in my sig and will be updated weekly. Bowled a 207,212,201 tonight. Whats with some of your guys leagues with 4 games, I want that, LOL.

alot of scratch leagues do for games, i also have a sport shot league, but lsat week was only prac. ill be updating on those scores starting sat. night

Sport Bowling, your very lucky. I wish there was Sport Bowling here, I would definately be on that league. Be sure to update us on those scores.

ya i know i have been bugging the owners about it for 3 months now, cant wait, my goal is 190+ i think i can do it, not sure, only bowled on it during prac. last week, did ok, cant wait til sat.

Theres a big difference going from regular USBC league bowling into Sport Bowling. So you just bugged the owners of the bowling alley and they said ok?

well i work there, and am one of the top youth bowlers, and there grandson is one of my best friends, i had some connections

and they are only doing 6 lanes of it, teams of 4, only about 18 or so ppl there

18 people or 36 people, I could care less aslong as there was sport bowling going on. How old are you if you dont mind me asking? I noticed you said, "youth bowling".

im 17 years old, ya its still sport bowling, but i dont know if they would have been able to do it if there was alot more ppl, just b/c it is so different, so im happy that there is not alot of ppl yet, it will get bigger tho

I'm really surprised that they would start a sport bowling league with that many people. I figured they would only go out of their way if there was alot to sign up at the same time. They gotta fix the oil patterns differently and set things up differently with sport bowling. I hope it works out and you'll bowl alot of games and there will be more people to join.

I'm sure it is interesting to see the difference on how they lay the oil patterns. I wanna bowl on some of the PBA patterns just to see how they are, I think it would be fun.

i have bowled on all 5 of them
pattern 1(the easy shot) i only avg 175 on
pattern 2-(med diff.) 199 avg
pattern 3-(med-high)-194 avg
pattern 4(hardest)-210 avg, i guess it just work for my style
pattern 5(med)-191
all patterns i have a minimum of 24 games on them, they are really fun to try, but its a 30 min drive to get there, and i cant drive, so unless my friends want to go i cant.

What did they do put down each pattern when you went, or do they do each pattern on certain days? If your only 17, shouldnt you be in bed for school in a few hours? You may have graduated early or something, but usually 17 year olds are a Senior. Dont think I'm trying to rag on you, but I know when I was 17, my ass was in bed sleeping by like 12 or 1. I could deal with 4 or 5 hours of sleep. You seemed to have some pretty good success on each pattern, especially pattern 4. What is pattern 4?

im not sure exactly wat it is, everyone i know hates it, the avg 220 on the others, and they say it is the hardest shot there is, i find it the easiest, they lay the patterns out on certain days, usually pattern 1 and some other one, just b/c 1 is supposed to be the easiest, i find it hard. http://pba.com/resources/oilpatterns/laneconditions.asp-theres a website that talks about them all

i should prolly get to bed earlier, but i work til atleast 11:30 or later depending on when everyone is done bowling, and with school this is the only time i get to talk to ppl, and check up on everything

I see what your saying. I know before I had this job and was still in school, it would be school, go home and change, go to work, get off work and go home and go to bed. Pretty shitty lifestyle, but eventually things will change, especially when your out of school.

ya school is almost over, only 8 1/2 more monthsand i work at a bowling alley wat more could i ask for..besides a raise, but its pretty good

If I didnt have a car payment, house payment, credit card payments and utility bills, I wouldnt mind working at a bowling alley, especially with all that free bowling. I met this one guy at the beginning of summer leagues this past summer who just started working at the alley the summer prior to this one, and he started bowling everyday because it was free, and now he avg between 210-220 every league he's in. He owns like 10 balls, all of which are Ebonite, but hey he's good and bowls for free.

i don't know if this goes here or not, but...HORRIBLE first night of league...

156, 177, 156 = 489

at the end though my doom started hookin..don't know if the lanes were breakin down or what, but i'm gonna get it sanded tomorrow...any suggestions on what i should get it sanded with? just want to dull it a tad...nothign too extreme...

wow, i was rolling the ball better then i have ever done, i missed pocket on my first 3 shots. After that, ever shot slammed the pocket, but i couldnt carry, 6-10 pins is all i left, whoever said lefties carry has never seen me bowl, because i get some of the worst i have seen, only shot 785 and dropped my avg to a 220. 4th game, finally started to fall front 7, i had no clue i had 300 going, some asshole comes up and says i have front 7 and was going to shoot 300, 7 pin, 9 pin, 7pin 7pin, after i was done i went and asked him if he could not mention that i was going for a 300, and he said that he never even saw me or said anything to me
