my nephew just started bowling and i was thinking about getting him a bowling ball for xmas...there is a SHARP BLADE one ebay for pretty cheap 10lbs...i am teaching him how to throw with a little hook and am wondering if this would be a good beginner ball...i know there is would be no weight block in a ball that light...does anyone have any info on this ball??
thanks...

you happened to come to the right place and ask...

They dont call me dr blade for nothing(even tho i have no blades now)... i did have 6 of them... and 1 of the balls i owned a sharp blade...

never knew they came in 10lbs tho:confused:

if the ball has no core in it(which why call it a sharp blade then).... the coverstock should be core enough... the coverstock is a particle...

but i know most lightweight balls do have a core in them... and its a lightweight core...... i guess it wouldnt hook alot... but i would start off with a entry level ball... vibe... power groove.. torando... or any other entry level balls....

other ppl agree?

From what I have heard the 10# balls have cores, but I'd ask the expert (BG) for more info... if you want to know about the core in these balls.

The Sharp Blade was a great ball, this ball should hook more than the entry level reactive balls out there today, if I had to guess. Consider it not that old of a ball.

Bought one for me, then my wife wanted one.

The Sharp Blade core is the same throughout. The material I have does not suggest it's a lighter weight core however it is the same shape.

I would say get the ball anyway as it'll be good. Plus, as there don't seem to be too many secondhand ones around so it will sell ok when you're done with it.
