What type of cover?
If this ball is particle/pearl I'd be all over it...hoping...it looks pearl.Featuring the High Mass Bias Gas Mask Core with Flip Block and new Violent Bite Reactive coverstock, the Black Widow Bite is what we moderately call aggressive. The Black Widow Bite expands the performance offerings in the Black Widow series by offering a stronger hook motion with more aggressive backend. Take that as a warning.

WOW! After hearing that, I probably won't be buying it because I had to do SOOOOO much to calm the BWS down.
It's a sexy ball, though and I bet it would be wonderful for me in heavy conditions.

I think you might be ok with this BWBite. Just drill it for a strong arc instead of a length with agressive backend.

So my black widow solid is dying. It has been resurfaced, and lasts for a little, but just not long enough. I plan on keeping it cause i still throw it sometimes. I have a BWP and a Toxic also. Would the BWB be a good fit for me? Like since my BWS is just about dead, would a BWB be good to pick up to kinda slowly replace the BWS?
Not sure how much you can say since no one has rolled it yet...

ok guy, I need someone to clarify this for me. This new Bite goes longer the the solid with a more aggresive backend. Is that not what the Pearl does? I've got my finish knocked off off my pearl, and it out-hooks the solid already. Its a great looking ball, and after I see one roll, I may get one. I think I'll wait until the next No Mercy comes out though.

Here's what I would like to see n the No mmercy Ball line and I have discussed this with Brian Graham. I would love to see a New No Mercy with the No Mercy coverstock and the Gas Mask core with flip block. This combonation would be the deadliest ball they would have. Imagine that going down and then flipping on the back and the hitting power it would have.

Bubba, this time, gonna have to strongly and completely disagree, the Gas Mask core does not belong in the No Mercy line (period), that would be a unholy as changing the core in any of the lines. Then again I don't think the No Mercy core belongs in other lines right now. Personally, right now I will not in my right mind ever buy another Hammer Bowling Ball with the forsakken Gas Mask core. (Most people here disagree, but I have not had a ball with this core that ever worked for me.) I've put all kinds of different surfaces on this ball, 1000 Dull it hooks like an animal.
The No Mercy line was created to aviod the weight holes, Keep CG with in 1" of grip center, blah, blah to go with the possiblity of new USBC rules that died. This is what makes the No Mercy, is it own core. When they release the new New Mercy, I'll probably get one.
If they wish to release the No Mercy line with a BW Cover and the Black Widow line with No Mercy covers, that could be interesting. But, i think right now the BW line out selling most everything. But how may of us really see conditions, that we need a ball from the No Mercy line?
Will add the BW Bite looks awesome!!!

Nice lookin' ball. But it's got the same RG and Diff numbers as the BW's already out. That's pushing the core to the max, now. What makes the coverstock so great this time around? Rowdy, the Big Blue was a decent ball for some, but not nearly as many as the BW... Another dud with this core was the Big Deal. The Coverstock on the BW made the ball. The Big Blue Series did not make near the impact on the bowling like the BW Series.
pba6285
12-17-2007, 01:06 AM
No I am not saying that.
What I am saying is In my hands the BW series of balls are better than the BB series. I was convinced by the Former PBA Tour Ball Ball rep of another company that the difference in the change of coverstock made the BW a better ball the the BB.
I would also say I would bet Ron Hickland would also say the cover stock is better on the BW vs the BB
I would bet the BW series has out sold the BB series at least 3-1. Why because of the better reaction and the more versitle coverstock of the BW
I had tons of 225 with the BB and BBPearl but not the number of 250+ that I have with the BW Series

I was mostly referring to the Big Blue logo. I always hated it...just thought it was really odd looking. I think most would agree that if a random person walked into the proshop and was asked to pick between the Black Widow, and the Big Blue, they would pick the BW the majority of the time, solely due to the name/logo.
And don't worry...we'll roll someday. I will get over to SoCar one time or the other, and we will hit the lanes. But it aint gonna be no grudge match, where someone give the other 25 pins and says there's gonna be a whoopn laid... It will be a good ol time, with plenty of beer, and BS stories sure to abound.
Besides, that Big Blue don't stand a chance, cause when my Diesel blows the rack, its got Black SMOKE rollin out the stacks!!!

Kenny,I'm with you on this. With the same RG and Diff numbers as the other BW's,I'm wondering just how good the new coverstock is. Is this thing gonna be an oil hog? How much work is it gonna take to keep this thing hooking? Are we gonna have drill issues with this one? I don't get how this thing is supposed to hook more, but the layouts never change. If you're gonna crank it up,the fingerholes have to move. But I never have seen any of Billy O's or Tones layouts on here. They ain't government secrets.

I threw the "One" series an Ebonite demo days a little over a year ago. I couldn't control the One - It thought it had too much over-under - The closer to the moat I threw it, the higher in the pocket it hit, except for one ball which left a 7-10 on a pocket hit.
I liked the Big One - That ball worked very well for me that day I had quite a few strikes with it. The Infinite One was pretty good also, but I thought that the Big One was the pick of the litter.
But my Hammer stuff still hits better than the Ebonite stuff.

Most definately solid reactive. And as for the Gas Mask core, this core is great with the right shell on it. The Big Deal and B/W Pearl were okay, but the B/W was arguably one of the best balls of all time. Hopefully this shell is on par with the original Violent Reactive, which I've heard is actually GB 10.7.... any thoughts?

Compaired to some of the covers it is. Look at the Big One , what's the GB rating? 11.2 ? And I am sure the BWB is alot stronger than the Big One is. I understand the Gas Mask core makes alot of difference and I have seen other Hammer balls with more agressive movement than the Big One.
