Hello, I am trying to decide between the Real Deal and the Big Blue. I am leaning towards the Big Blue because I have been told that it has a predictable and gradual turn towards the pocket, just like my original Blue Hammer. Does the Real Deal have the same type of roll towards the pocket, or is it more of a last second sharp snap towards the pocket? Thanks. Desertsnake

I feel the Big Blue is more of an even rolling ball then the Real Deal. I have mine drilled the same as my original blue hammer CG on axis and pin toward the ring finger. With a Large Weight hole on the axis point. The Ball rolls the same as my Old blue hammer with the explosive hit of the newer equipment.

The Real Deal is best suited for heavy oil and will not quit hooking.
The Big Blue is better for medium oil.
Ball speed, high track or low track, high rev or low rev, ball lay out, talk with your pro shop.

From what most of the questions I have read, it is hard to answer.
1. Short, medium, long oil? You need to know how many units of oil and what is the pattern that is being used. What kind of oil are they using?

2. Finding out which ball to use is all most impossible to answer, unless you know the bowler.

3. The bowler. What is there speed? How many rev's? Do they play straight up, or do they swing the ball? How far do they place the ball on the lane? Where is there release point?

4. My suggestion to you, is to find a pro shop that does not drill balls like an assemblely line. Find one that has the time, and the knowledge about balls to talk to you. Just because they average 220, does not mean they will put you in a ball you need.

5. Do not be a camper. Practice different shots. paz1967@earthlink.net

I have just purchased a Big Blue and Big Blue Spare Combo and absolutley love them. I was currently using a 16# ball which had very little break to it and very, very little backend action, thus me carrying a 149 average. After the first game of adjustment to my Big Blue, I was averaging 170 for the night and 190 the next week. I have found that the break of the Big Blue is very predicatable and gradual, however, you will have to adjust your approach for it. So go out and practice, practice, practice, but most of all enjoy the game.
