I'm a bit of a predicament here, and I am wanting a bit of advice. I absolutely love the way that my BWP (here) (http://s211.photobucket.com/albums/bb188/dechrist/Current/?action=view&current=BlackWidowPearl.jpg) is drilled. It goes long, snaps very hard, and destroys the pins when the lanes break down a bit.

My BW (here) (http://s211.photobucket.com/albums/bb188/dechrist/Current/?action=view&current=BlackWidow.jpg) is drilled all-purpose, which is a good drilling, but it has left me a little disappointed. It seems a bit too squirty for me. If I miss right, then I start leaving 2-pins, and I fell like I can't quite open up it up on the lanes. I've been thinking that I might be able to get a little more bite out if it by swinging the CG a little closer to the grip midline, and place it just outside my span (run a line from my thumb to my ring finger, and place the CG just outside of that.

I'm thinking that a selections like that would get the ball moving a bit harder to the left.

Thoughts, anyone?

Actually the MB is in a good spot. With the pin being down and the added thumb weight the ball could be rolling out on you. Try taking it back up to 4000 first. And if your really set on redrilling it, then all i would do is move everything straight up and put the pin above the fingers maybe above the ring.

I'm running 4000 polished at the moment to delay the hook a bit.

I'm exploring options at the moment, and haven't decided one way or the other to drill it. I guess it's time to get the abralon pads to take it down to OOB and see what happens...

I would take it down to 2000 or more(less like 1000) then. Should give you more and earlier hook.

A funny thing happened in league this evening. My BWP got squirty on me so I opted to throw my BW(S). When I hit my mark it carried great. It did take me two games to figure out how hard to not throw the ball. Once I did I ended the evening with a 224 (a slight pull in the 10th prevented a possible 246).

I think I'll leave it where it is for the moment. Time for more practice this weekend.

Thanks for the help.

I was bowling last Wednesday night, and I saw that my BWP started to overreact (A couple stone 9's and a couple of well-places shots that went Brooklyn) . I went to my BWS with its milder(?) drilling, and it was just what the doctor ordered. (I shot a 191 the second game, and a 209 the last).

I decided to get in a little practice yesterday (beat up Sunday houseball shot with more distractions than allowed by law - I took the family along ;)). After paying my penance to the bowling gods (2 games of spare shooting), I threw my BWP for the first game. I wasn't clean off my hand, and ended up with 4 strikes. I got out my BWS, and it was cleaner off my hand, and I had 6 strikes in each of the next 2 games (including a game-ending hambone in game 2 of my practice set).

I think I have a little cleanup work in the thumb of my BWP - the BWS is good to go, and I will leave it alone :)
