This is how i have mine drilled and it hooks a ton on the backend. A lot more then I thought it would. In fackt i just had a neg weight hole put in it to tame it down a bit.

COBALT, The CV has a great back end. If you want more aggressive backend motion, drill it with the #1 - Standard Layout Length with aggressive backend . I have mine drilled this way and it goes real long and makes a great move at the break point.

Very true; By watching you throw he can see your speed, revs, axis tilt, etc and all of that will help him lay out the ball to fit your game.

If a pro shop wanted to drill a ball for me without watching me throw first I would be concerned, unless I went in specs in hand and told them how to drill it.

My proshop also drilled my BWS without seeing me throw or even asking me how I bowled. This was before I knew much about ball drilling, etc. After reading about ball maintenance I went back to the shop to get some ball cleaner and he sold me on some stuff with acetone in it. Afterwards I read the approved ball cleaning thread and noticed it wasn't approved so I got some PH Energizer online. Now I'm hesitant to go back to that proshop. Maybe I'm overreacting

No, you're not. He's supposed to be the "go-to" guy, and instead it sounds like he's selling you snake oil.

My CV is drilled the same as magic tones and it allows me to do all sorts of things with it. I love it.
