i currently go through bowling.com for all my balls...since i have no pro shop anywhere near me. nearest is more than 2 full hours away..i was wondering where the cheapest place online is to get new hammer balls. i am looking to probably get one of the black widow's and possibly a toxic or anger. right now all i have is an original no mercy and a blue vibe. any input would be nice. i'm a tweener, i probably don't throw the ball more than 15-16 mph and i currently have a 150 average on league. i've only been trying to consistently hook a bowling ball for about 2 years now..all my life before that i just threw the ball straight down the lane.

I too buy my stuff from bowling.com..I have not had any trouble from them..Make sure when you order a ball you kinda know what you are wanting( top weight, pin location etc.) If you don't specify what you want they will most likely send you what they have..Be sure to call and make sure also that they have what you want in the warehouse..Otherwise they will ship from either their northern location I think Illinois, or from Florida..Their main locations are in Texas...Good luck..:D

I got my BWB for $114 :D I am only a little dissappointed in the looks a bit so far. I think it should have had Silver filler in the BW Bite Logo. I am going to scrape out the red and either put in silver or even white will look cool ! But I think I will leave the hammer logo red. I might even drill out the top 1/2 in of pin and make it white or silver !

I would also check with your pro shop. If you have been doing business with the same shop for a period of time, he just might give you a deal and besides the support he gives you onky benifits you and your game.

well i've ordered balls from bowling.com and mgbowling.com and haven't had any problems with either site. pretty cheap prices even with the cost of drilling. if you can get the ball at your pro shop for around the same price i would get it there.

with all this..i am still very much a novice.. now how would u say i should have those specs..if i were to say i'm a tweener, i throw probably 15-16 mph consistently..i'd like my ball to have length and a strong backend into the pocket. i have no clue as to how top weight affects how the ball rolls or anything..if someone could explain all this so i will know in the future how to get these set up..i would love it.

as slap said last page, Ebonite has a new pricing policy in effect, which limits how cheap anyone can sell equipment they make, which of course, includes Hammer, so if you have to order from a site, the prices will not be any different, so it doesnt matter where, although id reccomend buddies, as quite a few have.
Your best bet is still a pro shop :p

Steve,I think you have that backwards. Ebonite can not tell anyone what to sell anything for. That would violate every anti-trust law on the books. It would also be called "price fixing". Very bad. Ebonite can however,SELL their bowling balls for the SAME price,no matter how many you buy. They just eliminated the volume discount. Let's see where the prices are in a few months.

There are actually quite a few manufactures of good that regulate the price of their goods. Can't remeber the Power Tool Company (Think Black and Decker/Dewalt use too), also every place I've seen sells Dyson vacuum cleaners for the same price. Now these manufactures will allow or even discount their wholesale price for sales. What some of this gets down to, is the image they want for their products... most of this preceived and a load of bull... but the retailers agreed to this in their contracts.
The last Price Fixing scam I remember was the one for PC Memory where to largest manufactures got together and decided to rise the price for all Ram chips. (There was a little bit more to the whole deal, but it was a couple manufactures rigging prices.)
Rowdy, I do however think you right Ebonite is not providing volume discounts like they use too. Think some of the online retailers are also distributors.

This may answer some of your questions. Start with that.

Rowdy is correct. From my understanding, the distributor has a base price they can sell to retailers. The idea is to make the larger retailers pay the same price as smaller retailers. The motive behind this action is to help the pro shops that need protection from internet sellers.
That said, I think this is a terrible plan. In my opinion it is anti-capitalist, un-American and a load of crap. When did bulk pricing become wrong? If a company has the captial to invest upfront to buy at a better price then so be it.
The ball companies need to find a way to support the pro shops. I just don't think this is the plan.
