my new widow bite will be here tomarrow.

my first hammer-

been throwing a morich and its a pretty good swimmer, but i want more.
not a high rev bowler, and im finding sometimes i have to adjust ball speed to get reaction. like to keep control so my speed is pretty medium.

considering layout #3 on a strong track. pin is at 4". should i drill a weight hole?

HELP.

dont know a whole lot bout specefics and can i trust pro shop to deliver what i want?

welcome aboard, sounds like you are on the right track. If you know what you want the ball to do and know the suggested drilling you should be able to keep the driller honest. As far as a weight hole, it is used primarily to keep the ball legal. Your driller can plan to not use one but this could limit what he can do.

Welcome to the boards Capt. Like raven said, it sounds like you know what you want and it shouldn't be a problem with your driller to do what you suggest. If the pro shop is inside the lanes have him take a look at you throw a few frames and he can advise you more on what drill patter will suit you best. As far as the weight hole goes, it depends on after the drilling if weight needs to be taken out or not. But if it weighs out within specs he will not need to put one in.

Personally , I like to use a weight hole because if done right, you will drill into the weight block. When you do this, you change and elongate the core and change the dynamics of the ball. In my experience, it usually makes it react more like what the drilling is supposed to do. But dont take this wrong, there may be no reason to use one if thats what the plan is.

Stampy's on the right track. How about drill it without one first,if you can, then roll the ball. Not good enough? Put one in. Since you've rolled MoRich, you're probably aware that Mo came out with a chart for where to put a weight hole to make the ball react better. It works with any brand ball.

the bite out of the box is not so different until tunes with the weight hole.

i did take some advice from you guys and it did help.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT.

shot 2 games only
first one 183 but was tweekiking and adding weight hole.

second game, little more snap at the backend and came up with a 233.

so far so good
