I've recently got a black widow and ive been trying to practice with it lately. Well im a finess bowler and bowling with the black widow is very different to me. I usually play the track area, but when I play with my Black Widow it either does one of the following .
1) Goes long and hits very high
2) Goes long and snaps back fast hitting the 2-4 pins
I've tried playing deep on the lanes but with my playing style it goes to the 6-7 board and doesn't come back. Most of the time if I play the 5 board or lower it doesnt come back. Is it the way I come out the ball, my drilling or just the different lane conditions?

Welcome to the forums!
Tell us alittle about your release, speed at which you throw the ball, your rev rate, and maybe some pics of your ball so we can see how it's drilled and maybe we can help you.
But without knowing those things, have you tried just playing a tighter line? like playing up the 12? Sometimes the trick is to stay in the oil, not get out of it.

Release: I stress finess so I hold my ball about stomach high. At the second step is when I start my follow though and the 4th step is when I finish
Speed: my average speed is about 13-14 mph or whatever
Rev rate: I know I have a low rev rate don't know the number though

Okay so we have alittle more background. Cool. That ball is drilled pretty aggressively, so the trick is going to be keeping the ball inside the oil on it's trip down lane. If you honestly have a hard time staying in the oil, try putting a good coat of polish on the ball. That should buy you some extra slide.

So I would need to bowl like closer to the 3rd arrow?

In between 2nd and Third if you want to throw straight. If you don't mind a mild belly (swinging it just alittle, not much), throw it overtop the third arrow, let it swing out to the 10, and come back. See how that works maybe.

Place the inside toe of your left foot in between the middle and fourth dots I guess. Move left from there at half board increments until you get into the pocket pretty well, but keep the same target on lane (third arrow).
Also, this may have the ball behaving differently than if you were to go during league time as the oil will most likely have dried up some. But this should get you started.
Now let me finish by saying that this is a GUESS as I'm no coach or pro, just a guy with a 182 average, but this is my educated guess.
PS: Could you get another pic of the ball's mass bias? the (HMB) mark on the ball? Preferably a pic where the HMB and the three finger holes are visible so I can confirm my assumption of a 45° mass bias placement on this drilling?

Okay. So it's more of a smooth arc than a snap. Try that and let us know how that goes for you.

Well did the advice yesterday and it was hitting far from brooklin so I desided to place my feet on the 2nd and 3rd dot on the left but keep my target the same (3rd arrow). I opened my shoulders so I could keep my balance and it started to work good I wasn't getting strikes but I was getting makeble spares. Soon after the strikes started to come and my game was doing good. Then I slacked off and i lost control of my ball, this is a very different style im used to playing and a more aggressive ball to throw...so I think that I did good for a practice...well my scored wasn't high but I was able to see how to control the ball.

Well that's half the battle won. Now all you have to do is practice, practice, practice and the other half will come.
