In my review of the Bite I mentioned that the ball was flaring so much that it was actually flaring over the oil lines again on the back side of the ball. Has anyone ever seen this before ? I have seen it one time on a ball we drilled for a guy that hits it like Maximum Bob and Tommy Jones. But for a guy like me with little or no hand ! What the hecks going on here ? LOL

Stampy, with the technology combined with cover stocks and cores this is not unusual to see a ball flare twice. If you look closly you will see where the ball bowties and then starts another flare. This happens when the physics of the ball takes over and makes the ball flip. I have double flares on all my balls, and it has been said Chris Barnes's equipment Flares three times. It is nothing unusual.

Double and Triple Flare? I'd never be able to keep my ball on the lane!

I am not sure if Bubba knows what I am saying. I know there are two sides to a flare, but it flares so much that the two halves are overlapping ! It almost seems like a gyro ! I dont really care cause its working great. I was just curious

Ohhh I see! So it's not anything that isn't already happening on most peoples equipment. The difference is that axis migrates alot more than "usual" in Stampy's case, hence, the huge hook (combination of early roll and late "snap")

Oh, Thats what you call it.
Long story short, new BWS has the bowtie oil pattern on it when I use the drag the knuckles release. I always thought that was what it was supposed to look like when one threw the ball more correctly than how i was throwing it in the past.

ok, picture this, your ball flares 3/4 the way around the ball on one side of the flare. Now the other side does that too ! So you get arcs crossing each other on the midpoint of the ball. Its like hitting fresh oil on the lane ! Thats why we like the flare, so we get fresh surface. If it flares over the other side flare lines, now we get old oil ! I will draw a pic and post it to show exactly what I mean. And Top Gun, it is supposed to flare, just not quite this much !

Sure it is. Now imagine using that ball on a heavy sport pattern. There are gonna be some bowlers who are sponsored by other companies wishing they had this ball ;)

Stampy use a grease pencil and the ball if that will explain it better.
