i purchased the deal just today and tried it for the first time. here's my evaluation:
given the reputation of being an aggressive skid flip ball, i decided along with my driller to tone down that characteristic by placing the pin right below the fingerholes in the middle with the CG kicked out to the left. (lefty by the way)
when i threw it down the lane for the first time, i can see why the ball wanted to do a skid flip. the coverstock is very aggressive and it does need oil. what i got it to do was get it arch more than skid flip. the ball hits like what hammer is most famous for. HARD!! the lanes were spotty after all the open play. it kept going brooklyn and i was already playing 17 to 12.
overall i'm happy with the ball. i do plan on getting four more balls from hammer. the real deal; power diesel; big block diesel and the saw blade. :D

I like my Deals. They give me the most consistent reaction. They give me more of a arcing reaction than the skid/flip everyone expected. This ball is really good for bowlers with slower ball speed.
Ball can't be that bad when the lasst 900 was just shot with it. The 900 before the most recent one was with a Blade Pearl.

My deals work fine on clean back ends. The second any hint of carry down pops up , forget it the ball will not turn the corner. Every other Hammer in My bag is fine, which include: The Real Deal, Saw and Switch Blades, Turbo and Big Block Diesel.

My real deal will turn the corner even with carry down. As should be the case since my house only strips two days out of the week. By the time saturday morning rolls around they have had all day friday and friday night of open bowling there is a lot of carrydown.

I really like both my Real Deal and the Deal. The Deal is definately great for med to short oil. I have one that works great when the shot goes deep and the head oil is going away. Pin is about 1/2" above ring finger and cg kicked to the left (105 degrees) I am right handed. The other I have verticle about 1" above the fingers cg straight down. I have shot 2 300's with this so far. I have 3 Real Deals, all work great with heavy to med oil, major back ends unless you kick the cg to the left. These balls are my favorite along with the Pure, the pure is awesome for med to dry lanes.

I have had similiar results with my Deal ball. On clean backends it is very good and will come in hard. As soon as I get carrydown it stops finishing for me. I have a Sling Blade that I can use at that point because it is much more skid/flip and it will turn the corner. Both are drilled a little positive from the label, and I have found that they compliment each other well.

maybe its me but i was not happy with it when i first got it but has sense done well when the lanes dry up a bit and i slow down the ball.
