My brother, sister, and I got my dad a Total NV for christmas, and the other night he finally got to throw it in his league. He's pretty happy but he would like it to go longer, because he has to play over the 15, but he said hes not super comfortable there so he wants to tame it down a bit. he can throw this line but hes a stubborn bowler nowdays, doesnt like to change speed release or anything. 14-15 mph, medium revs

should he just polish it in the machine at the lanes or what would u guys suggest that would be better? thanks guys

Bowl with it repeatedly, constantly, consistently and don't clean it... Ever.

Alternatively, you could try some http://www.bowlersdream.com/extenderpolish.html but I doubt the old Lustre King will fix that.

The Luster King might help it. The LK's in my area use wax instead of polish. There is a big differenct between was and polish. If the LK uses wax, it will make it slide more down the lane. Other wise you can use the extender polish like Josh stated. Or he can put an X Hole in the ball if it doesn't have one already to tame it down a bit.

Personally, I'd but that ball on a spinner and polish the crap out of it.

Some sort of polish with a slip agent.
These Power House porducts ought to work Extender, Magic Shine and Delayed Reaction. Slap says the Beans polish provides a nice high gloss shine.

The TNV is 4000 abralon w/ Factory Finish, fom the factory. Dulling it down could also smooth out the reaction, just depends on what he really wants. If the ball is jumpy off the spot... dull might be the way to go.

Dont use the luster king with wax, it will be very difficult to get the wax out of the pours of the ball later. And the ball will no longer absorb oil like its supposed to. Try what bubba said and use a x hole to reduce flare and also try Ebonites extender polish. It has a small amount of grit to it. It will for sure reduce the overall hook and add more length than standard polish.

Well gang I am going admit I use the LK when needed instead of polish. I have never had any problems with the LK. And as for reaction on the balls I use it on , ask idle and VMS how they react. 20-5 or 18-2 and gets to the pocket with no problems.

Yea, I use it too when I want a little more length out of my stuff and I havent had any problems with it either.
