With Goals You Set For Season At The Halfway Point Of Season,me Myself Somewhat On Point Average Wise But Still Fill I Need To Be More Consistant In Repeating Shots And Spare Pick Up,would Like To Be 200 Average At End Of Season Right Now Im 190+ In Both Leagues,if I Stop Leaving The 2+ Opens A Game I Could Be There.

My Goal for this season also was to average 200, but about halfway through I'm at 194.7ish. I'm continuously working on my release and approach so hopefully I'll get that down soon.
But I'm only making about 70% of my 10 pins, which is way under what I want to be doing.

Im close to getting mine goals aswell.
I had three at the start of the season.
1) Pick up 90% of my spares
2) Be more consistant with my approch and hitting my mark
3) Shoot a 7
4) Shoot a 300

I havent really gotten any of my goals yet..
1. Shoot a 700
2. Shoot a 300
3. Avg. 200+
4. Place 1st in at least 1 YBT or JBT
Lets see..i am averaging 204 in Highschool, but no where else, and nothing else met...
Have had the front 7 and 8 quite a few times so far this season, back 10 as well :o

I am at the Goal I set out at the Half way point. I set out to help and see someone improve and so far there have been many that have. I am currently working with someone at one of the houses here and he is improved 7 pins in avg. the last 3 weeks.

I have set 3 goals for myself but have not come close to any of them.
1. Shoot a 300. Highest game was only a 240 something I believe.
2. Shoot a 800. Closest was a 735.
3. Average at least 210. My average is at a 197. I had a 6 week period where my average went from a 202 to a 193.
i didnt have any rock hard goals except that i wanna get a 300 before the end of the season... i got close, with a 295, but i havent gotten more than 8 in a row in a while.
i was want to average around 200, and im at 190 or so right now, so thats coming along well. im especially happy seeing how i finished last season with a 160ish average. ive done this through having a stronger, first ball and of course alot of spare-shooting practice. but i still usually manage to finish each game with at least one open frame :(
otherwise i just wanna gain consistency and versatility on lane conditions and hopefully see my average closer to or over 200 :)

Started out the season with some modest goals:
1) Average 185- currently have a 178 composite avg
2) Shoot 650- best so far 618, 613 (shot 804 in 4 gm series)
3) Be consistant- not so right now, I still miss too many easy spares.
Fairly close to the goals I set for myself. Hope to surpass these & then bump the goals a bit higher.

I'm getting there.
My goals are:
- Maintain a 195 avg
- Roll a 300 (would be my first)
- Roll a 700 (would be my first)
- Roll better spare game (much improved since getting my Tuff)
I'm currently:
- 183 Avg and climing (from 171 - bad start to winter. Started w/ 213, dropped gradually to 171 over 5 or 6 weeks, now recovering)
- Rolled a 690 on the nose.
- I could still improve at spares some, but my games gotten alot better. I dont miss as many 10's, never miss a 7 anymore, don't often miss single pins... it's the multies).

I'm not a goal oriented person.
What I've done this year:
Leagues:
House 1:
Down 7 pins from last year in avg, from 226 to 219.
My carry is inconsistent here and the pattern playing funny for my tweener style. The puddle in the middle is slick and when the track area goes, I have trouble finding the correct carry angle in game 3 and 4.
House 2:
Avging about 228 at this center. Their house shot hooks more than the other, but tightens up with carrydown as the night goes on. Carry has been pretty good here.
Tournaments:
Cashed in every tournament I've bowled in.
Two house shot patterns, avg'ed about 225 for those 16 games.
Two on sport shots, avging about 205 or so on those for 20+ games.
What I haven't done:
No honor scores, had the front 9 once and thats about it. My last 300 was over a year ago. I did bowl an 800 last April, in games 3-4-5 of a 6 game block.

I'm close on my average goals (carry 210 in 1 house & 200 in the other),
207 in the good house & 198 in the tough house
Haven't made the game & series goals (300 & 800) yet
Have been over 700 4 times but no 800 yet
Shot 8 games over 250 so far but no 300 yet
Had 4 nights of 30 clean & my Thursday mixed team is in 1st place

I'm close, but not really satisfied yet.
I wanted to be over 200 with my average-I'm right there.
I wanted to shoot 300 again the first half-came close.
I wanted to shoot more 700's the first half- not enough to make me happy.
I wanted to shoot 800 this year-first half 0, but watched two other guys do it.
I wanted to get more consistent with my: speed, release, spare shooting, switching balls during play, etc.- That I am happy with for sure.
I'm never satisfied with my bowling, but I'm my own worst critic too though.

I have accomplished a few goals I set for myself.
1. Have fun - accomplished. I have any time I step onto the lanes.
2. Shoot another 300 - done on 12/21.
3. Win a Championship. Might not happen. Team finished 4 pts. out of first because one of my bowlers rolled off on the last night. (I won't pick him next year).
4. Shoot 800. Not done. Closest has been 762
5. Stay consistent. That seems to be happening a little at a time.
6. Keep average over 200. I'm currently at 212
Having a great time this year, and I hope you all are too

My goals before the season started
Ave 190 (best has been a 185) - 200 right now
Shoot 650 - 686 and 710
Roll more series over 600 than under - 7-4 right now (over 600)
A clean series - have 2 right now
Learn more about the game - I have learned so much in 1 1/2 months it is crazy
....so far so good..I almost want to erase my goals and strive for something bigger so I am going to set these goals for the second half of the year
- Have a chance at 300 (9 Strikes to start it out)
- 750 series - Gonna be tough
- 205 Average - Gonna be tough
- Keep on learning about the game

I set some modest goals for myself this year and have pretty much reached them.
1) Get my average up. 1st half of the season I've gone from a 145 entering to a 160. Last year was my first year bowling after an 18 year layoff so it's like starting all over again for me. My ultimate goal would be to get back to at least the 180's.
2) Roll a 600 series. Almost done. Got to 599.
3) Continue to educate myself on bowling. Done. Communities like this have been a major help. Thanks!

Here were the goals I set for myself this season:
- Bowl a consistant shot
Haven't been able to do this on a week to week basis
- Bowl a 600
Have a 545 but that's it
- Bowl a clean series
Got close a few times by 4-5 frames
- 180 average
Right now at 161; gonna be hard to get to 180, but dammit I'm gonna try
- Bowl at least 1 200 every week
Not even close, I have 3 200's this season
- Every Bowler's goal every game: a 300
Not even close, I can't seem to string them together
Now I haven't bowled in 5+ years and when I stopped I was averaging around 170 and I was consistantly getting the 600 series. I haven't bowled a league session with my ANGER, but hopefully I will improve greatly because I can't miss the pocket with that ball.

Geez, you think about all THAT when it's time to roll? Holy Cow! Try just thinking about the next shot. Just get A...one...strike. Missed? Get the spare. The rest will take care of itself. If you don't know you need 8 pins in the 10th for that 600,there's nothing to gag on. I never add it up until I'm done for the night. Just put everything into the next shot and let the chips fall where they may.

I don't think about my goals when I throw each ball. This is my thought process:
Grab Ball
Smooth montion
hit mark
good release
1-2-3-4
Missed X - Alright what did I do wrong
Got X - What did I do right

How about trying it this way: (This is for right handers, reverse if you isn't one)
GENTLY pick up ball,do NOT use bowling thumb, support ball with left hand.
Align feet
GENTLY place fingers (not thumb) in ball
GENTLY place thumb in ball while staring down your target
Assume starting position and start pushaway
Rip cover off ball at release
Follow through
Got the X? Do the same thing next ball.
No X? Pick up the spare first. THEN worry about what went wrong on the strike ball. Never roll with a negative thought rattling around in your head.
Now,why all the gently stuff? Guys hurt their hands every season either picking up balls using their bowling thumb or from ramming their fingers into the ball. Ever see a PBA pro do it? Never. You shouldn't either.

I ALWAYS do everything gently. I always go fingers first.
Now ripping the cover off the ball at release is something I don't do. I gotta work on that.
