Thanks for sharing the link, I'm interested in trying the Tommy Jones thumb in first... this just might be the answer to playing on drier lanes or hooking backends.

watch out on that, Ive tried it and that makes your thumb come out last and man does it hurt. (loud POP)

This doesn't change the WAY your hand comes out of the ball. Just the grip pressure. If your thumb is coming out last, you're doing something wrong.

it only comes out last when I do the Tommy Jones thumb in first thing it hangs up bad. Thats why I only did it once, I'll never try that again.

Yeah but you throw the ball all kooky anyway ;) I've tried that as well... my fingers never actually got into the ball. It probably doesn't help that I have all my inserts very tight.

yea my fingers are tight too thats why they came out first cause with the thumb in that far they hardly went in, but I decided to do it anyway, BAD IDEA.

I tried this for a few frames practicing last week and while it felt different it wasn't bad. I might experiment with it more to see if it can be of benefit.
I didn't have a problem with my release at all, but even with my balls drilled fingertip I was told that you should always sink your thumb completely into the ball.
When I put my fingers in first my thumb sinks completely in, so reversing that when I sink my thumb in completely first it was a little stretch and wiggle to get my fingers in but it worked.

It definately provides a different feel, my thumb was able to exit the ball okay. I only tried it a couple of frames when I needed adjustments. Need to get a practice game.

I use it on dry lanes because it cuts down my rev-rate.
