No at all. The hotest Tap water you can get is best for the bath. You could also add a littel dawn detergent in the water the first time. Let it sit untill the water starts to get cool. Then empty and refill with Hot water again without the Dawn. Let it soak again. Do it untill all the oil is out and there is no more residue on the surface.

I wouldn't go much further than that...

It will ;) You just need a screwdriver and to remove the cover on your hot water heater ;)

If you have little please don't remove the scald guards. I work with a guy and his little boy, got 2nd burns from the bathroom sink, was in the hospital for about a week.

I agree. The scald gurads are there for a reason and what Stampy stated about that little boy is the major reason .

if you wnat really hot water and leaving the scald guards in pplace, go straight to the water heater. there is always a drain valve.

Yea, thats why I have the SG's. My youngest is now almost 8, so it wont be long til I get them off there. Until then, I still have the rejuvenator at the shop anyway. I figure by the time I need a new water heater, she will be old enough to know better

You can run the hottest tap water that you have, then add a pot or two of boiling water to your bucket (then add the ball). That's what I do to clean my stuff in the winter, and it works great.

I have a three year old future hammerhead at home, so I won't mess with the safety systems for the hot water either.

I also have a ball spinner that I use for cleaning. I place the towel on the ball as it is spinning to generate a little heat. The oil will start to wick out. Then I use my cleaning stuff to clean the oil off the ball, then use a spray bottle of water to remove that residue, I use different towels at each step. It's almost as good as the bath.

Too much boiling water will melt the bucket.

Just run the hot water tap until the water is steaming hot. Change the water every 15 minutes and you'll be fine.

Add the dawn on the SECOND bucket. The first bucket gets the ball leaching out oil. It opens the pores in the ball. The dawn on the second bucket really gets the oil coming out.

I concur w/Rowdy's recommendation...this is the method I've followed on a few BW solids with much success. One friend recently complimented on how his ball reacts like it did when it was new. I guess I'm doing something right. :D
