so i've been told by my coach and other bowlers that i over turn/turn too early, come on the side of the ball too early which is the result of being a spinner.
my coach is a usbc silver certified, but he doesnt offer any other advice besides try to just come straight up with the ball. is there any tips or techniques i should/could try to fix this problem?
its soo frustrating when i try to come straight up, but i still come on the side of the ball.

Have your grip checked. If the thumb pitch or lateral is too far off, it can cause release issues forcing you to turn your hand just to come out of the ball.
If all is good there, think of pointing your ring finger to the target as you release the ball.

I'm seeing a too early release, but no mention of from which direction the release is coming. First off,is your arm straight? No "chicken winging" of the ball? If you're coming from the outside or letting your elbow get out of line, you'll get the dreaded spinner too.

If you are chicken winging you can try practicing with your bowling towel tucked under your arm. You should be able to keep your arm close to your body and not drop the towel as you bowl.
Another great tip by Bubba was imagine that you are going to drag your knuckles on the ground on your downswing and release.
These are a couple of tips to get you started and I'm sure more will come.

i dont think im chicken winging the ball because my coach hasnt mentioned anything about it in the previous lessons.
i use to use the ring finger tip, but i went away from that in changing my bowling style, maybe i should get back to that so i could build more positive memory muscle.
i shall try out the towel tip tomorrow when i practice and also try ron c's tip35.
ill update after practice, thanks for help guys.

i dont know anything about thumb pitches, i believe its the defualt pitch that he drilled me, which was straight?
is there a certain pitch that would help the thumb exit sooner without squeeze?

Here is a little tip you could try. As you are going through your arm swing, keep you knuckles facing the floor as if you are going to drag them on the florr. Hand under the ball. As your hand gets to the heel of your sloding foot, start turning the ball counterclockwise if yo are a righ hander and come around the sie of the ball. After the release make sure you thumb is pointing to the 12 oclock postion and not 11:00 / 10:00 or anything else. Give this a try and see if it helps.

Also, feel the ball on your ring and little fingers until release. Basically what everyone here is trying to say is stay behind the ball longer. If your coach said you are turning it too early, you are certainly not overturning it !
