Finally tonight I bowled my first 200 game after over a year of practicing! I rolled a 203 my first game tonight!

My other 3 games went down hill from there as little kids started bowling next to me getting in my lane during my second game and then during the last 2 games a guy showed up next to me with his child that was mentally disabled and had no control of him what so ever or he just didn't care. His son kept going in front of me when I was about to start my approach or stand right behind my on the right side jumping up and down making loud noises. I was more concerned about hitting the child with my ball than bowling so that was that. I would have changed my lane but the alley was crowded early tonight.

Even with all that it didn't ruin my night as I finally got my first 200 game!!! As soon as I feel I'm more consistant...I will join a league this summer or next winter! Right now my scores are still too eradict even with high, medium and low games!

nice job on the 203! ya not much you can do about that except ask the parents to take control, because it's rude. it's okay though because at least you got your 200.

Thanks Pipes! I can't wait to get more 200 games now that I have a taste of them!!! Next time that happens I'll asked to be moved! I'm a regular there and they know me pretty good now (after all I've been bowling there a few times a week for over a year) so I shouldn't have any trouble with getting my lane changed!

Thanks HBhammerhead! That's true, but I doubt the guy would have done anything to control him! LOL You're right...in the end it didn't matter as I got my 200 game finally!!!!!!!!!!!

Forgot to mention I got the 200 game using my BWB!

no problem. you're going to run into that the more you bowl, so you kinda have to get use to it and learn to block it out. just wait until you run into the adults my age who are wasted out of their minds and are bowling right next to you. fun times

I am trying to learn to block it out...it's not an easy thing to do! LOL I can block it out when there are loud people around me for the most part...even adjust to people that don't have a clue about bowling courtesy, but when they get into my lane as I'm making my approach is a different story. I'll need to work on that one! LOL

I kind of enjoy the ones around your age wasted out of your mind bowling as it a blast watching them...not to mention the hotties they bring with them off and on! Now that's a distraction I'll take any day! LOL

Trust me, it gets much easier to break 200 from here out. Getting paranoid about it doesn't help because you don't focus as well. First time I broke 200, I didn't even realize it. I was just bowling to practice, not really caring about my score. I looked up and had a 201 in the 9th. Since then I couldn't tell you how many times I've gone over 200.

haha i see, i guess your just gonna have to bowl and if you knock em' outta the way then just say "nothing hits like a hammer." haha j/k :p

as for the hotties yes that is a distraction but if you bowl with someone else then you can check em' out in between shots!

That's good to know Cobalt...thanks! It good knowing I'll be getting over 200 more often now that I got it once already!

That' a good one HBhammerhead! I should do just that and say nothing hits like a hammer! LMAO I'm a big guy to so I could really send em flying! LOL I do just that when I'm with my friends...then when they get a strike and I don't see it they say you're supposed to be watching me and not looking at the hotties! LOL

Congrats on your first 200,Ray. Next stop,210. That's your next goal now.

As for joining a league, why wait? Spring leagues will be starting soon and there may be some "short season" leagues starting now. Don't worry about what you shoot, that's what a handicap is for.

Thanks Rowdy...210 here I come!!!!

I shouldn't wait as I know it'll mean more experience and cheaper games when practicing which is always a good thing! I'm just not sure about my scoring consistancy yet! Like tonight for instance my best game was a 203, but my last game was a 113. Granted I did have a lot of distraction with the last 3 games though! Is that kind of a gap in my scores a good thing on a league or a bad thing?

congrats on your first 200 game. I remember my first. My good friend and coach gave me his columbia yellow dot and I almost shot 600 with it the first time I used it. I was probably 14.

I still have the ball as a keepsake. He passed away a few years ago and I always think of him everytime I go bowl. He always told me "Everything you learn doesn't mean anything unless to pass it on to others". Thats one reason I like to coach JR bowlers.

Congrats BowlingRay on your first 200 game,I as well got my first 200 game this week during league play 236 finished it out with 7 straight strikes, have had a few 200's during practice but it feels a whole lot better during league play! Keep working on blocking them things out if you can do that your scores will stay more consistant hopefully! Good Luck;)

Congrats ! Thats a geat score- you should be proud of yourself ! It is the first of many and with increasing frequency !

It can be frustrating bowling beside rude people. I bowl at the same time every day and I actually prefer to bowl beside the folks from the group home.
They may be a little wild but their enthusiasm always brings a smile to my face. The only people I have ever confronted were some regular bowlers who should know better. They were so rude and quick that I couldn't time my approach around their erratic behaviour. I now move whenever they are around. As for the younger crowd( wild ones ) you need to remember they are there to be social and to hoot so grin and bear it !

Congrats on th 203 Ray. We knew you had it in you. ANd to get it the way you did shows concentration. That's a good thing. Now it gets easier from here. just relax and you will see more and more 200's as you go. Keep us up to date on how you are doing.

Thanks Jackhammer! He sounds like he was a good man and a great coach!

Thanks Rattyhammer! I would love to imporve faster!

Thanks Tuff01ram! Congrats on your first 200 as well! I will...I'm getting better at blocking them out now...except for when they get in fornt or behind me during my approach! LOL Good luck to you to!

Thanks Nica! I can't wait to get more of them! I've come across bowlers that are rude and to quick for me to time my approach as well. That's true about the one crowd bowling...I actually don't mind them unless they get in front of me on my approach which has happened on occasion!

Thanks Street Racer! I am looking forward to my next 200 game! I be it felt great when you got your first 200!

Thanks BubbaRay! I'm glad you all believed in me! My concentration has improved quite a bit now! Lok forward to getting more of those 200's! I wanted to go today to bowl some more to try and get more 200's, but I was a little sore so I decided to take a break! I will keep you all up to date!

Hey one thing i would definately recommend is bowling in a league. Like some people said, you'll improve a lot quicker. Most people will help you out.

I bowled in a singles summer league one year. I was ranked in the B division with a 163 average. We bowled for Peterson points and every game was on a different set of lanes. I told them to put me in the A div. Even thought my average was lower and it was scratch, I ended up with a 187 average by the end of the season. By far it was the best learning experience.

Keep the high scores coming....
