I found myself drifting in my approach. I'm finding myself missing my mark a little right of target (3 boards). I believe I'm doing this due to my new harder moving ball and I'm trying to swing my shot with my body than roll it.
I know this can cause 7/10 pins on solid pocket shots. I only shot 6-7 games with this ball.
my follow thru is good. The only thing I believe I might be doing is moving the ball a hair early and I think its the cause of my problem.
any idea's, I'd like to hear them

i was drifting quite a bit myself and couldnt figure out why i wasnt in the pocket. i just picked a target further out on the lanes and that put me on the money.

I drift a little on my approach, so what i did was to measure my drift and calculate it into where i stand versus where i aim to give me an exact location on where i end up at the line.

Thanks for info. I love throwing new balls but somewhat unpredictable till the track starts breaking in.

Is the new ball heavier than your other ones? That'll cause a drift with some bowlers. Or are you really winding up,trying to kill the shot? That'll do it,too.

16 lb. the ball has a little more top weight but thats no big deal. I'm throwing it the same as before.
When I ordered the ball I wanted to be resized. My span changed a lot so I'm trying to get used to it.
My fourth game I bowled with it was 258. So its getting better.

Drifting is ok as long as you dont try to play up the twig ! It will get you in serious trouble then guys. Thats why I work on staying straight on my approach

I got my drifting down pat now. I highly recommend getting with a usbc coach. I got really lucky and found a gold level coach in my area. JACKPOT
I was able to cut my drifting down from 8-10 boards now its down to 1-2.
It was the best $50 I ever spent. I was so surprised how he opened up my pocket. I swear I had a 2 inch pocket and its about 10. I threw 9 strikes in a row working with him and smell that 300 cooking.
Plus he's going to drill up my Widow Bite that will really match up for me. I can't wait!!!!
