I view bowling as a social activity with the bonus of competitive exercise thrown in! Since you are not having a pleasant social experience, or even enjoy the "exercise" of it, I would not hesitate to switch leagues(or centers). Simply put, "If it ain't fun, why bother?"

*points to Rowdy's sig* "I Bowl to Win" :p

Id much rather be around people who are more serious/care more about bowling, compared to those who jerk around and call it "fun"

Get out of that canter and don't look back. It sounds like they are just screwing off and don't take it seriously (seriously as in the sport aspect of it).
You should just take your skill somewhere else and leave them to their drinks on the approach.

im fortunate enough to be around people who are as serious if not more serious than i so i cant really pass judgement

but i would say atleast change leagues and if ur still not happy then change centres

I agree: Change now - since you're obviously not enjoying it. I switched centers after league season last year, and oh-my-God - what a difference! I enjoy the bowlers more, the workers more, and the competition.

Good luck with your decision.

Move on, and have no regrets. My team switched centers after the 3rd week this spring and have had no regrets. There are leagues out there that have fun and bowl with respect to the others around them.

Yes you should switch. But before you do, go to the league officers and tell them exactly why you are leaving. Make sure your dues are caught up. It does no good to leave and keep the league officers in the dark. They need to be made aware of the problem.
