hmm, i would get the bash, i have the black ice, and with its low flaring core, it really gets down the lane.... but this ball does not like oil in anyway lol, unless u sand it, but then it still doesnt lol
heavy oil ball, hmm
i have a black widow at 1000 grit, that goes ok in heavy oil
with the bite 4000 finish i think, it will not cope in the oil, but sand it to 1000 and put a strong drilling in it, and you should be ok..
what is your rev rate like, low, meduim or high
if its low, i would look at something else for heavy oil.. but then again...
just alot of dicisions

The Tornado sounds good for dry. Get either the Anger or Bite for heavy.

get an Anger for heavy, very very very curvy and smooth...plus it hits like a mac truck.

Get the Anger for Heavy. And a Cherry Vibe for dry. (but be warned: If you dont drill it weak it will not be a dry lane ball. Dont underestamate this ball.)

I have mine drilled weak and it is way too strong for dry conditions.

He could always drill a CV weak. Has anyone tried that on here and had success on the dry btw?

Cruser said that his is drilled weak and he still cant throw it on dry. Hes probly making the right choice going with the a tonado.

I think it would also have something to do with one's rev rate and ball speed.
I have a BV polished up but it is still too much ball for dry. Although, it's a pretty strong drilling with the pin slightly higher than my typical strong layout. I'm not a high rev'er though.

Ball speed and rev rate always effects the way bowling balls roll. Plus with a strong layout no one would be able to throw it on dry. The only true dry lane ball was the purple vibe. Many people at my house have used them and they work well on dry.

I'm not sure I agree with that statement. You can always take some hand out of the ball and adjust line, speed, etc. I think too many of us (myself included) rely too much on the ball and not enough on technique. We act like we can just pull out a ball for any given condition and it will magically work.
Don't get me wrong, I know balls have different characteristics and perform differently on different conditions but if someone can shoot 10 pins with their aggressive strike ball, then they should be able to be just as versatile on their shot making.

Its ture you can always change hand and all that. I just dont mess with my hand to much. I move and adjust angle. The only diffrence in hand when shooting a 10 pin is you come stright up the back of the ball.

Anger at OOB has amazing continuation even on heavier conditions. I would recommend getting the Anger for the heavier conditions that you are looking at.

Not so Neo. You have seen me bowl with my Anger in all lane conditions. And I have seen you throw yours in DRY. The Anger is good for all. But if he needs a really heavy oil ball try the NMB. That ball does not light it med to light.

I've thrown an Anger in heavy oil and I think it works great...however my new Cell from Roto Grip is a monster on the oil...I threw a practice session on fresh heavy house shot earlier and this ball was a beast...my dry ball however is an old Rhino...because by now ,that thing is pretty much dead...lol

How does your technique differ from NeoWidow18's?
Mine is to use my plastic spare ball (Maxim), stand with my left foot on the far left dot and I throw in between 3rd and middle arrow very hard (appx 19 mph). As for my hand position, it's basically the same but I bring my index finger in some (about an inch).
I've really improved on my ten pin shooting and now I'd rather shoot the 10 than the 7 any day. I'd say my percentage of conversions on 10 pins is in the 90's.

Neo throws like...like...the lane could be optional on his spare shots. Remember the old Road Runner cartoons? The trail of flame behind the Road Runner? That about sums it up.
I just find out how much hook my spare ball has on that lane and aim right that much. The ball does it's thing and I ring up another spare. Why change things for one shot and take the chance of messing something up?

Hard and straight pretty much takes lane conditions and moving around out of the equation. That's why I use that approach.

When I mention hook on my spare ball I'm only talking about 2 to 4 boards of movement. Most guys on Tour throw the same spare ball as I do. It just looks straight unless you're standing right behind the lane.

Mine hooks a little at the end too because I still put revs on it. I don't change my delivery. I just bring my index finger in some compared to my strike ball. In fact, when I miss a little right when shooting the 10 pin, the revs often hold it and let it ride along the edge and still take out the pin. The thing is it's very little hook because the ball is plastic and I throw about 3-4 mph faster than my average strike ball.

Neo, your sig confuses me. On one hand you say throw a hammer or nothing at all and then you have the check out my equipment link and it shows pictures of all kinds of balls including several that are not Hammer.

I dunno. The first page doesn't show any logical evolution. I realize that the second page has all hammers except for his Columbia Blue dot (obviously for spares).
