So I purchased the following:
- Ebonite PowerHouse Energizer Ball Cleaner
- Ebonite Wool Loomed Towel
- Ebonite PowerHouse Oil Free Towel (microfiber)
- Ebonite PowerHouse Power Wash [increases hook and backend]
1) I am wondering if the Power Wash, which claims to increase hook and backend without length change, really works. Has anyone used it before? I won't get it for a few days so I cant test it but I am curious to know other peoples results with it.
2) Is the PowerHouse Energizer a good cleaner, and is it ok to use on all bowling balls, including my Elite, Columbia 300, and obviously Hammer? Should I just use it after each series?
3) Which towel should I spray the cleaner on to? I have my Microfiber one, but it is designed to absorb liquid better than a normal towel. I don't have my wool one yet, but I am guessing its better to use a wool towel to apply the spray than it is a microfiber one. Does anyone have an opinion on that?
4) Is it ok to wash the towels in normal laundry as long as I do not use fabric softener?
If you can answer these questions I would greatly appreciate it.

1. I have some of that myself and have tried it, but i didnt notice any difference after using it.
2. Well, as it is made by ebonite, that is the reccomended cleaner for Ebonite, Hammer, Columbia and Track, and it does what it should, gets any oil and track marks off the ball
3. You dont apply the cleaner to a towel. Spray it directly on the ball :p
4. I dont see why not, but i havent done it myself. I have enough micro towels that they get their own load :D

Alright will do, the directions say Apply liberal amount to towel, but if spraying on the ball is better ill do that.

Its better to spray directly on the ball, my bottle says to spray right onto the ball.
Also, PLEASE shake the bottle of energizer cleaner before you use it. Its a compound that will separate if left alone and I've hand people complain that it doesn't work because they didn't shake it first.
I checked out the Ebonite/ Hammer towels- nice mirco fibre towel with a brand name on it. Went over to the Dollar Store and got 6 large micro fibre towels for wiping down the ball and 6 smaller micro fibre towels for post-bowl cleaning. Worked out to the same price - 12 for 1 !
I'll cut a corner on a towel but I won't use cheap cleaner on my ball. I have used the Storm cleaners and I have ordered the Ebonite product.

I havent used the Power Wash myself but I know some who have and they said it gets the ball alot cleaner than Hot water and dawn. ( Their words not mine )

The Power House Cleaner is a great ball cleaner. Use the Power House Cleaner after every set you throw at the end of the night.

I spray the cleaner right on the ball and let it sit for a min. . I wipe the ball with a plain terry cloth towel and I haven't had any problems using it.

I throw my towels I clean the equipment with right in with the other towels in my laundry. haven't had any problems washing them.

I do some window cleaning and use micro-fiber towels often. Things to remember as far as their use with bowling balls is: no fabric softner and do not machine dry. Just hang out to air dry. Drying and softner both lessen the towels ability to absorb moisture. When buying, you get what you pay for there is a difference in fiber, it's length and shape. IE: ability to absorb moisture. I buy mine from ABC window cleaning, they do have a web sight.

While we are on the subject of cleaning... I was under the impression the Clean & Dull was fur a "deep cleaning" every 30 games or so. I was watching the Complete NV videos on the Ebonite site yesterday and in one of them Jeff Usery said that the Energizer cleaner was for polished balls and the Clean & Dull was for, well, dull balls. But he said that *both* were for daily/after a set cleaning.I have been using the Energizer on all my equipment after league/practice and the C&D on everything every 30-40 games. Now I am wondering if I need to change my maintenance routine.

i don't know about the power wash stuff, but i'm sure that it is a good product. power energizer cleaner works well and will work good on other brands too. spray the cleaner on the ball and as bubba said let it soak for a minute. i use microfiber towels. i got a 12 pack in the auto center at walmart for $4. they work very good and are cheap. i use one towel to clean the ball and the other to dry. as for the loomed towel...i use a hammer loomed towel to wipe off oil in between shots. i have another hammer towel i use to wipe off sweat.

Thanks for all the tips guys. I will head over to walmart and get some of the microfiber towels, I paid $12 for my single ebonite one :/
And so you all don't think I am crazy:

If you can't read it (blurry, sorry) it says for cleaning By Hand: Apply a liberal amount of product to the ball using a clean, dry towel. Which I assumed means spray some on the towel, and wipe the ball with it.

Hmmm, I've always used that stuff sprayed right on the ball. Worked like a dirt magnetic. Curious to see if there's a significant difference going straight to the towel

i've done it both ways...seems to work better when you spray right on the ball. it doesn't have any adverse effects to the ball. try it both ways and see what you like best.

I tried spraying directly on the ball, and I felt wasteful. I sprayed on the top, and it would drip down, but it would miss a lot of spots, so I ended up putting my towel on the ball and spinning the ball in the towel anyway to spread it around.
This brings me to a new question. Is there any downside to cleaning a ball more than 1 time before using it again? When I am done with a series now, I clean it with the ball cleaner. However a day or so later, I start wondering if I got it good enough, so I go over it again. Any harm in that?

I didn't get to read all the posts but you can find out all the information on Ebonite's website
www.ebonite.com
They have a full section on proper ball cleaning and conditionings. I found this when I looked at the NV about a month ago.
hope it helps
