View Full Version : Why does this happen to me?

So I know that my game normally does come on until about after 3 or 4, so I decided to bowl three before my league. I'm normally a stroker/tweener but my game was again off two nights in a row for league bowling. I decided to practice after league and wouldn't you know, after one game I became the a cranker, accurate at that, hitting pocket and smashing pins shooting in the mid 200s. Why the heck does it take me so long to get into a groove?

PS. I'm extremely pissed off that I had to wear my bowling shoes home because some punk kid stole my shoes right out of my bag

sometimes i have the same problem. i think, for me, it's my body getting warmed up. it takes me a few games to get loose. also i don't bowl as well in the morning after i have only been up for a few hours. i'm going to start stretching a lot more before i bowl. maybe that will help you out some?

that really sucks about your shoes being stolen. who steals shoes?? GEEZ.

Just my 2 cents but your most likely NOT relaxing during the league ! And then you go practive and NO preasure and your lose and throw much better shots . Common in most sports with a LOT a folks . Your pressing and don't even know it is what I think . But my wife says I have NO business thinking :D

I would think that you are trying to hard or thinking to much! bowling if a fun sport but a lot of times people over react when things dont go there way by changing balls or moveing a lot. just calm down and let the game come to you! i would say bowling after you find consistant release and form is about 80% mental!

It's the old,"Stop thinkin',you're hurting the team" deal. Keep throwing a couple of games before the league to get loose, then carry that mindset over to your league. You know the basic line from practice,so just roll it out there and trust the ball to do the work for you.

Thanks guys. I'm pretty well known at the lanes because I bowl two leagues there, so at least the staff there actually gave a damn and made an effort to track down my shoes. No such luck though. Don't really know who's desperate enough that they need 3 yr old new balances anyway, lol.
