We bowl on light to medium oil conditions. He doesn't want alot of hook. Small to medium. He doesn't exactly have a style either, a set one anyway. This is his first year bowling in a league and does decent for it. He has a 120 avg at the moment. What ball would you say that he should use, hammer or elsewhere. Most likely the answers will be on hammer balls and thats still good. Just want some options to give him.

bws drilled #3
he'll be amazed at how easy it is to control
i say cherry vibe. its cheap and it hooks as much as you need on those conditions.

Yeah i would have to go with a vibe as well, its cheap and a 12 year old kid at my ally just shot a 300 with one aaron ruiz! how old is the kid? what # does he throw? i wouldn't go for anything real expensive if he just started?

He is 15 and I think he is looking for maybe a 13 or 14 pounder. He has just started but he is pretty good for starting in my mind. He'll bowl anywhere from a 110 to a 170. Not very consistent, but that comes with experience.
I was thinking of a possibly a blue vibe for him.

Yeah i would tell him about the Vibe! its a great started ball and is very underated and in a few months he is gonna grow out of it anyway no reason to get him a 200$ plus 14# bowling ball if he is gonna grow out of it soon! if he throws down and in i would recomend the blue vibe and if he swings it a little get the cherry vibe with strong layouts for both if its gonna be his number 1 ball!

I would suggest either the Cherry Vibe / or on the Ebonite side the Raid or even the Blue Ice. All are great balls that he will be able to control without difficulty. try and see if a 14lb. ball isn't to heavy.

If he's going to stick with it,an Anger. He can grow into the ball. If he's not serious and just looking to own any old ball, buy something used.

Not sure what he is going to do. He loves doing it now. So thats what I'm looking at. I think an anger would be too much hook. He wants only alittle bit of hook. We also bowl on medium oiled lanes not heavy.

An Anger isn't a heavy oil ball at all. Tink throws hers on dry to light oiled lanes and does very well with it.

Mine wasnt either, I had the exact same problem, but I could still get like 10-12 boards of hook, but not close to what I wanted.

That's the ball. Now before everyone gets all excited,go down and click on "Drilling Instructions". I belive it's the number 2 drill, length with less hook for dry to medium lanes. I rest my case.

I was on a medium-heavy THS and It wouldnt turn over, had to slow down a ton to get it to flip and I have never had a hard time making a ball move at all until this one.

It depends on how much work he wants the ball to do for him. Anything in the Raw line would be good if he's serious. If he's not that serious, tell him to get a CV.

I would have to go with Rowdy on this one, If the kid is gonna stick with it for a while go ahead and get the ANGER he will be more then happy with it!
