My problem is that even though get really good hits into the pocket...I can't do it consistantly. These are the things I've noticed that may be a problem in my approach and release. I am lucky I can get into the 150's lately and this all started right after I got my first 200 game. LOL

First when I do get good pocket hits I know my wrist is cupped, but when I don't get them I've realized after paying close attention to my hand that my hand breaks just before release and the ball goes straight. What can I do to correct this problem short of buying one of those gloves like robo revs that keep your hand and wrist in that cupped position?

Also I still get gutter balls that go into the right gutter. I have noticed that I drift slightly to the right when that happens. I am also a big guy with fat thighs and was wondering if my legs touching each other could cause my gutter balls?

My friends I bowl with noticed that I tend to bring the ball behind my back a little before I star bringing the ball forward. Could that be causing the problems for me as well?

Thanks for your help,
Ray

Could you do us all a favor and get a video of you bowling? Its much easier to comment off of a video than a description.

About the weak wrist, put your hand in the ball and do wrist curls with the ball, your wrist will become strong enough that way (that's how I did it)

Or you could just ask Rowdy's Majic 8 Ball. He hasn't used it to give out answers in a while.

Be nice now. The Magic 8 Ball is for very serious stuff only.:)

I started back my workout routine at the first of the year. Wrist curls are part of it with a 30 lb dumbbell. My game is steadily improving.

Also check out my thread in Techniques and Tips regarding The Approach where I asked for advice from Larger Bowlers. Helped me out as I have larger thighs too.

Don't put down a wrist support. I know a bunch of guys who swear by the Mongoose. They love that thing. Since I'm getting along in years,I may give that thing a shot.
