Just a question for those of you that have them. Did you buy the basic one for 60 bucks or one of the upgraded ones for 500+? I would think I would pony up and buy a good one in case its the only one I ever get. And also, do you guys wear them or keep them somewhere else? Alot of people I know say that they wouldnt wear them, but I think I would want to flash that baby haha

When I got my first ring it was free, the silver one. At the time, I did not want to wear it so I wasnt going to pay for the upgrade. Right now the upgrade is around $700 I think. I still dont wear them. But its kinda cool to display it or something. That why I get the plaques, I like to hang them up.

I wear them all the time. I actually have them on now. I wear 2 and have one at home in my game room. The wife doesn't even seem to mind that it is on the finger where my wedding ring should be. I never upgraded on any of them. I thought I would when I got my first one, but I didn't have the $$$ at the time to spend on a ring. I just wear what they send me. But, the gold ones do look awesome. Good luck in your quest for the "bling"

The one I got last year was the free silver ring with the ruby red stone. I wear mine. I figure I earned it especially since at the house where I bowl its the first three in seven years.

well if their only handing one out free now (once in a lifetime award). then i'd guess when i get my first one i would take the free one just to have it. after that, i would just go with the upgraded one and buy it myself. and i would like a plaque too.

You can take the free one and buy a gold one also? I figured you couldnt buy anymore unless you do it again

oh ya, whats it called when you bowl 12 strikes in a row over two games? Like a Van Poppel or something like that right...

I got the free one, cause the price of gold is so high right now. I wear mine, it was 1st one and it was also the 1st one that was bowled in the bowling alley I am bowling at. This is their 1st season being opened and we have had some good bowling. Their has been 2 more shot since I shot mine. I shot mine in November one was shot in Feb. and the other one earlier this month.

i shot my first 800 series on 12/2/05 and upgraded to the gold ring then and when i shot my first 300 and second 800 on 9/28/07 i also upgraded to the gold 300 and the gold multi top 800 ring. i also orderd the plaques so that i could hang those on the wall to look at. i do wear my 300 and 800 rings as i am very proud of them. whenever i shoot another 300 i'll get the multi top ring and then all that i'll have to do is upgrade the tops on the rings if i ever shoot another 300 or 800.

I purchased the multiple 800 ring, the ABC one not the USBC one. That thing is Uggggleeyyyyy.

Otherwise, I've got one free 299(ABC), 800(ABC/USBC) and 300(ABC/USBC). I now donate all awards to the BVL.

I wear mine for several reasons:

1. My wife likes the way it looks on my finger--any help matters.
2. It becomes a conversation starter with students in my high school--my students love the game and discussions about it give kids a chance to understand that I am a real person with varied interests.
3. It gives me reason to talk about bowling as a varsity sport at the high school and college level.
4. I earned it and that gives me the right to wear it.
5. There's a real story behind the one I wear because of multiple lane breakdowns. The story is always fun to tell.
