ya i saw the video. wasn't too bad. i use to play baseball and i was pretty good. i got hurt at the end of my junior year and couldn't throw my senior year with my right arm. i played the entire season throwing left handed, which i didn't do too bad. i probably should have stuck with it because i probably could have done something with baseball. my top speed when i pitched my junior year was 93 mph, but i consistently threw about 90-91 mph with my fastball.

Ah A fellow pitcher. I threw in High School and we went undefeated in our junior year. We went 12-0. My best speed was 91 mph. One thing about my style was I always had them guessing on how I was going to throw. I could pitch side arm / submarine / and conventional over the top. I would mix the style up from pitch to pitch and that always had them baffeled.

yep that's the best way to throw. when i pitched i had several different pitches, a four seam fastball, two seam fast ball, curve ball, and a splitter. i also did play around with my arm angles and such. going undefeated is awesome. i have only been on one team that won everything and it was a very special experience.

I pitched too until I trashed my elbow in my Junior year. Came back with a knuckleball in American Legion ball, but I always turned one over at the wrong time. Got a crick in my neck from watching all those fly balls go over my head. I do think that becaused we all pitched we have a better understanding of ball rotation and delivery that translates to bowling. What is it with all us old pitchers and bowling or golf? I never run into any other baseball position in a bowling alley as much as I do pitchers.

Well Im kinda out of the flow here, used to be a outfielder/shortstop when I use to play, use to be able to throw really far before I messed up my shoulder, now throwing over hand hurts.

I know what you mean. I throw 20-30 pitches now and I can't feel my fingers for a couple of days.

First baseman here. Started freshman through my junior year. I didn't play my senior year because I was taking courses at a local college and I had my first j-o-b. I had a vacum cleaner for a glove. If it was within reach, I could pick it out of the dirt. Contact hitter, not too much power but I was speedy on the bases. My pitching career ended in little league after giving up back to back homeruns. I still remember throwing those pitches. I think those balls are still in orbit.

I started center field and was also the back up third baseman, Started all four years of high school of varsity. Baseball was never really my sport though, i just enjoyed it as something to do till football started.

Billy Crystal playing for the Yankees is like me showing up and rolling in the US Open. Neither one of us have any business being there.

i was thinking the same thing. i think that's why my dad's picking up on bowling so fast. he used to coach high school teams.

Once you learn how to throw a curveball, axis tilt is really easy to understand. You just turn the ball over. I'm still trying to figure out if theres a way to translate a knuckleball to bowling.

throw the ball with just your thumb. Youtube Billy Oatman and watch him shoot at the 7.

Hey Rowdy, remember the drag shot for dry heads. Knuckle ball.

I was thinking more along the lines of having all the fingers and thumb come out of the ball at the same time. There wouldn't be any spin on the ball initialy, just like a knuckleball. Wonder what that would do?

It depends how fast you throw it, but if you ever saw a kid bumper bowling and the ball slides for the first 35 feet or so and then you can see it starts rolling and start trying to turn, thats probably what that would do, I think, not sure cause I never saw it but that would make sense.

Just throw it straight? It will pick up a roll when it hits the dry, but more then likely a core isnt enough to get it to hook.

I don't think it would slide that far,but I wonder what would happen when it started turning over. The core would take over some and turn the ball, but how much hitting power the ball would have left is the question. Sounds like something to try next time I practice.

i got your knuckle ball!!! okay put your thumb in the thumb hole and instead of putting your fingers into the grips rotate the ball 180 degree so your fingers rest on undrilled ball. then when you roll the ball, roll it with a broken wrist like you would shoot a spare shot end over end. the ball will glide with no rotation whatsoever. try it out when you are in practice.
