How about a sign that says, "It is not a hambone, it is a 4-bagger!"

Hambone is infecting bowling as we know it...people in all my leagues are calling a 4 bagger hambone. I feel empty inside thanks to this "hambone"

You must start the killing of the Hambone act my friend. Kill the hambone.

I was at the Denny's championship in Indianapolis. They will probably reject hammer signs because it's free advertising! They are horrible about it.

BTW, Walter Ray made a comment to the crowd when someone told him he threw a hambone in practice. His response was "It's a 4-bagger! I hate that hambone sh*t!" Everyone laughed, but apparently the old school pro's hate the term hambone!

It is a big saying in my house...all the bowling newbies now talk about it. Cannot stand it either.
The only hambone I will be seeing on Sunday is the one from my Easter Dinner with the family!

ya they don't even allow labels on the player's water bottles. the hambone thing is stupid and annoying. every time i get 4 strikes in a row my friend always yells it and i tell him to shut up

is the hambone saying complements of rob stone?

I dunno why but I expected better from such a big name in sports, Im sure theres more than one announcer that bowls, or someone that retired from the tour thats good on tv.......for some strange reason Randy is supporting all of this, if you read some of his spare thoughts articles he actually likes it because of the press its getting.

well if it's getting press and making bowling more popular than that's good, but i think that they should just stick to the terms everyone is familiar with and like. one thing that is strange is that a person in rob stone's position should know about bowling. every other sport does it that way. they don't have a guy without a clue up there talking about what's going on. the few times that i have watched the pba tour finals on sunday there has always been some kind of basic question that stone had to confirm with pedersen that he should know already. they definitely need to find someone knowledgeable about the sport though to pair up with pederson. i like to watch the pba on tv mainly to learn something new about bowling and with two guys commenting on the match i would learn more than one guy and another guy that likes to say hambone.

I actually like when Marshall Holman was on. I watch some of the older telecasts from time to time and thought he did a good job. I agree also with putting someone on there that actually has bowled before. Kind of like putting Lance Armstrong on Monday night football...just doesn't do it for me!

I dont live that far away either, like 2 1/2 hours, Ive never been to the Open, but I have bowled at Carolier before and regular THS there is very easy had 758 there and never bowled there before. As for the Open it would be a great tournament to watch not only for the PBA pros but a lot of the older legends of the PBA will probably be bowling and a few international bowlers. Should give you a good taste of whats out there and show a lot of different styles.

Idle i bowled the pro-am there and i SUCKED, but then again i just suck overall. But it was a fun thing to do and the place really is HUGE. Its a workout if u need to walk to the other end, the only thing i don't like are the 6-8 stairs that are in the middle, i think theres a ramp but it was way too crowded during the pro-am to use it.

Yea It is, I think 100, 75 on one side and 25 on the other, usually the 25 are used for tournaments and leagues and the 75 are used for open bowling unless its a big league thats what the guy at the pro shop told me(Teata Semiz's nephew), I didnt like the steps either had to carry the bag down them that was annoying. Other than that its a very nice house. I dunno Pain I had a lot of room to miss there maybe they put down a harder shot for the Pro Am, but it was easy when I was there.

The condition the tournament has is the condition the Pro Am is shot on also. That could be why the lower scores.

i heard holding your breath works wonders. try that! ;)

im a newbie to bowling (started in january) and i think the hambone thig is freaking stupid! i think its just an ESPN thing like with sports center. someone go punch him in the junk if you hear it! :D good thing stuart scott isnt broadcasting bowling.

Make a sign that has a red circle with a line through it with "hambone " in it. im wondering if he is trying to work in a holiday feast into throwing strikes? are we going to hear "stuffing!" or "mashed potatoes!" next?

At least you guys would know what the pattern is and which ball a guy is rolling if ESPN let me announce a tournament. And I would keep up with the ball changes.

Randy wouldn't have to explain everything to me either.
