Do you feel any strange pressure in your grip? Are your fingers swollen due to the weather . Or maybe is one of your finger holes getting tight. If non of the above apply to the grip and feel of the ball, seek medical attention. That's the best advice I can give you is see a Dr.

Well one of the grips on a couple of my balls are tight..but it swollen down near the base of the finger..but could that still be the cause?

I would recommend to go see a doctor to make sure that there isn't any ligament or muscle damage to the base of the finger.

I agree. if the swelling is at the base of the finger I doubt it that it's your grip. there is another problem somewhere and it doesn't sound like it's the ball.

Go. get it checked before anything else happens to it. Like the ole saying goes, Better be safe than sorry.

He said that it is at the base of the finger though, not at the tip, so it doesn't quite make sense to say that the span is wrong. Unless his span is extremely long to almost dislocate his finger as he puts his thumb in, there shouldn't be a problem. I would say that seeing a doctor before going to the proshop is the best idea.
