it seems like almost every league i'll have a horrible 2nd game. it really sucks when i sub in a league in which i never have bowled, establishing an average then i go (for instance last night) 190-130-189. makes it look like im a sandbagger. but i have only been bowling league for less then 2 months.

I think your probably taking too long to move when the transition starts at the end of the 1st game and by the time you figure it out its the 3rd game or else the shot comes back for the 3rd game like it sometimes does. What goes wrong during the second game usually? Ball stop getting as much backend? Does it come too high? We need more info here.

Kinda sounds to me also you are not maqking the adjustment the sewcond game fast enough. If you find the lanes starting to change at the end of the 1st game you might be taking to long makeing the move and thinking ok maybe it's me and fight it alittle longer than usual.

i think alot of it is mental. i throw the first game well (atleast for me), then i dont think i concentrate like i did in the first game (ie. reverting to old habbits etc.) i know if i stand a little taller on my release i get more revs and a consistent release. i make adjustments here and there , but yeah i dont realize what im doing wrong until after the end of the second game.

you are probably having an issue with carry down (oil). What does your ball do? Is it breaking to fast, or is it coming in to late? You might be dealing with a timing issue, therefore hitting left or right of your target. Are you staying behind your ball and rolling it or are you muscling your shot and coming over top of the ball

I have the same problem, well what I can say is that lane adjustment is part of the problem. Coaches tell me that I need to adjust more quickly, what I do is pay close attention to the 9th and 10th frames of the 1st game since that will give you a hint to what you need to do in the 2nd. Your mental game plays an important role, keep your self hyped though out the set and don't let your self get "tired" after the 1st game. If you keep the same attitude and look how you ball is breaking the last couple of frames you'll sure to have a high 2nd game.

well thats my 2 cents if its worth that :D

Ah,the old "Look What I Did The First Game" blues. You have to remember that when the first game is over it's gone. Done. Finished. The shot doesn't magically change just because it's the second game. But you do mentally. I have done it,too. You start to "coast" a little and not bear down on the job at hand. Pretty soon you're wondering what the hell happened. When the second game starts,it's a whole new ballgame. You have to throw just as hard as you did in the first game. Save the high fives and backslapping for after the end of the third game.

BUT STILL LEARNING TO READ LANES AND CONFIDENTLY MAKE CHANGE(GOTTA STOP SECOND QUESSING MY SELF),WED I BOWLED 254 THEN 155,SEEN CARRY DOWN HAPPENING,AND STARTED TO CHANGE FROM TOXIC TO BWP WHICH IS DRILLED TO READ EARLIER(PIN UNDER),BEFORE THAT I TRIED CHANGING LINE AND GOING AROUND ETC...,LAST GAME I SWITCHED AND IT WAS RIGHT MOVE IMO FOR 199,BUT I WASTED WHOLE GAME TRYING TO FORCE THINGS.
