U S Open Shot ????????

I am bowling n a local Tourney this weekend with you guessed it the U S Open shot laid down ! Any advice would be greatly appreciated . I know you guys can help :eek:

By the way I am kina of a WRW style bowler I don't swing the ball I can but its hard on me and my bones :O)

Well pipes I just shot on this shot last week and depending on lane surface ande lane condition you have to be pretty accurate. This shot is supposed to be 40ft. flat oil accross the lane. I threw on this shot last weekend and it played inside 8 to 13. I tried deep inside to around 12 and ball was just too inconsistant for me. Play deeper inside and it hooked brooklyn, played outside 8 it went straight. It seemed to me for my style if I played 12 to about 7 it was a better shot. One thing I will say on how to play this pattern is you have to be pretty accurate .

I bowled on this pattern last week with Bubba and I agree with what he said thats right about where it played on my side too, there was a shot like 25-12 but it wasnt consistent because if you pushed it at all it went in a straight line and if you missed in it was jersey or on the nose. If you have a duller ball, or can throw higher revs with a little speed, try playing straight up like 8- 10, I moved there the end of the third game and it seemed like a pretty good shot, that would probably stay consistent with the guys inside pushing oil to you.

Thanks guys If I am one thing I am accurate !!! I can hit my mark 99% a the time or within a board my biggest problem is speed control at times I get to strong and roll it past the break or vice versa .

This weekend starting Friday night should be interesting . Even if I miss cuts I have 12 games to bowl adding in my late night Sunday sweeper on the sport shot and of course this tourney with the U S Open shot . If I make the cuts I am going to have some hamburger fingers

I don't really have any rubbing problems its just so damn dry this time of year my caluses CRACK .I keep lotion on them but well :eek:

My plan is to start inside stright up the 3rd arrow with a small dink break and move right from there after that then it a be what the lanes allow !! from there

I have not bowled in this house in years I don't even know if they have wood or synthetic lanes. I am going to go roll a few tonight practice they have the shot laid down after 9 pm I have a lane rserved there allowing that if your entry fee is paid .

Best piece of advice......SURFACE.. Bring stuff with SURFACE. You want the ball to read the lane as soon as possible. It will also give you more room for error.
