Already the youngest bowler to roll a 300 game, Chaz Dennis of Gallaway, Ohio, added his name to the records once again March 9 as the youngest with an 800 series.
The two-handed competitor rolled 279, 236 and 300 games for an 815 series at age 11 years, 5 months in the Pepsi USBC Youth Championships Regional Qualifying Tournament at Park Lanes in Heath, Ohio. That moved him past Matt Mundy, who at age 12 years, 2 months, 24 days had 856 in Ventura, Calif., in 1993.
Dennis made history on Dec. 16, 2006 with a 300 game at age 10 years, 2 months in the Hillcrest Preps Junior League at Hillcrest Lanes in Columbus. That beat Michael Tang who had been the youngest 300 shooter at age 10 years, 3 months in Daly City, Calif., on March 11, 2006.
