Had my first lesson yesterday and felt very encouraged. The coach told me I had a solid base game and we wouldn't need to do much to get me to the "next level". Spent over an hour with him working on hand position, foot work, etc. Felt really good when we were done.

Then today's league came. Disaster. I had no clue what I was doing. I tried to concentrate on doing the things he told me and then something else would be go bad. By the end of the 2nd game I didn't even want to finish. I was completely discouraged.

Sorry. Just needed to vent. Thanks for reading. :)

droid don't get frustrated. It might just have been a bad night or you were trying too hard to execute what he changed in your game. Go out the next practice seesion and take your time and relax. Everything will come together

One step back to take two steps forward.... This is my life. Keeping working at it, the chips will eventually fall into place and you'll be better.

It takes some time for the things you work on in a lesson to become a part of your game. Keep practicing and you'll be fine!

Thanks for the words of encouragement. Haven't had any time to practice since last week's league. Last night of my Thursday league coming tomorrow but that's going to be a "fun" night as we're out of contention. Sunday will be my next league that actually counts for something. See how I do then.

Keep your eyes on the prize,Droid. Don't take Thursday night so lightly. Go and roll like you're fighting for first place. Keep everything you learned front and center in your mind. Yes,you will feel lost and think you suck big time while all this "rebuilding" is going on. That is perfectly normal. Every one of us that has had our swings redone has gone through it. But think of the prize at the end of the day,you standing there with a really nice average and all those high games you'll be rolling. Make that your mental image to get you through the rough times.
